Now these are some backyard fire pit ideas that I can get behind -- hot tub, ranch and mountain backdrop, lovely rocking chair to sit in, it has it all. I have been researching how to install a diy fire pit as well as potential designs for us to use. I love getting inspiration for things like outdoor fire pit ideas from other professional contractors because it shows me the potential for our area without me having to go to architecture school to figure it out. Although we don't have a sprawling ranch like these lucky people, I can recreate a similar look by putting a stone fire pit right by our hot tub. I think if I buy one of those kits that you see at the store and then cover it with some river rock, we could get a pretty close match.
My husband and I looked far and wide for simple backyard fire pit ideas that could be disguised as another part of our patio wall. We did not want patio fire pit ideas that were too bold or ostentatious, and something that would be concealed by our retaining wall so that the golfers beyond wouldn't see it. Our landscaper suggested this simple rectangular design at the same height and of the same materials as our patio wall/bench. I really loved that idea because, by just glancing at it, you can't tell if it is a table or flower bed. Overall I think it is a fantastic addition to our backyard, and certainly much better than the diy gas fire pit that my husband threatened to install himself.

This house is totally the epitome of backyard fire pit ideas done right. I mean, talk about the best fire pit design ever -- I can't get over the awesome bubbling green lagoon pool, giant rock waterfall, tiki torches, and neighboring hot tub. I don't think that I have the space necessary to build this entire look in our backyard, but I would love to at least attempt to add in a fire pit for the kids (and us) to enjoy over the summer. Most of the pictures of fire pits that I have seen seem to have some sort of gas line installed inside rather than real wood to burn. This technique looks less messy and dangerous than throwing wood on a fire, so it may be the best way for us to go given that we have kids.
I have been obsessed with looking at backyard fire pit ideas lately because we are wanting to upgrade our outdoor entertaining areas in time for summer entertaining. I really love the backyard fire pit designs that this homeowner used because it is simple, effective, and most of all really fashionable. I am a sucker for coordinated decor, so I just love that the umbrella, chairs, and pit surface are all done in a dusty brick shade. Most fire pit ideas that I have seen are a little bit too rustic, but this has a much more refined look to it, which I am all for.
I've been browsing the web looking for backyard fire pit ideas and so much of what I've seen has been too big, too fancy, or too expensive. I want something nice that won't break the bank, that fits into the natural space without looking like a pretentious art piece. I've played around with many stone fire pit ideas over the years and I think I've finally settled on the style illustrated in this picture. It looks cozy and inviting, and doesn't distract from the rustic simplicity of the environment. While fire pit dreams are one thing, cheap fire pit ideas are something else entirely, and my next project will be finding out exactly how much it will cost to get something like this installed in my backyard. Now that the kids are grown, I think a fire pit is a perfect addition to our outdoor space, a warm inviting excuse to hang outside late and chat, with nothing to distract you besides a warm, glowing fire.
