I actually love how it looks over there and it encourages me to find other bathroom ideas incorporate furniture that I could use in our space. We have enough room for another piece on the opposite side of the tub so I am excited to start the hunt again.

I have been reading a lot about the latest home decor trend utilizing bathroom furniture alongside your normal vanities. This is an interesting idea to me because I thought that bathroom vanities themselves would provide enough storage for everything you would need, but I suppose that the furniture is more for style purposes. As you can tell, we have a pretty spacious master bath so there is definitely room for a piece of furniture or two. Because of our white bathroom cabinets, I am not sure what finish or color scheme we should use on the furniture. I think perhaps a nice beige or wood piece would go well with the taupe accent wall and our area rug, but didn't know if that would be too bland.

If you have the space, I think that it is a great idea because it adds that additional element of style to these often cold and simplistic designs. Not only that, but bathroom storage can sometimes be scarce, so the more room you have to house towels, toilet paper, toiletries etc. the better. If you are going to incorporate furniture, make sure that the finish either matches or coordinates well with the bathroom vanity ideas used in the space. In this room we picked a piece in the same dark cherry stain as the floating vanity in order to make the entire look feel quite cohesive.

When we built our new master suite, I research a ton of the latest popular decor trends in an effort to make our home the most updated it can be. One of the very popular features that I saw used over and over was bathroom furniture, but I will admit that the trend puzzles me a bit (why had a large piece to a room with so many elements in it already?). I love the idea of using bathroom furniture as a way to beautify those rather cold and sterile spaces. I find that a lot of homes that I have visited have very boring bathroom vanities with tops that don't add much in the way of expect style or design to the space. When we sat down with our interior designer, I told her that I wanted to do something a little bit different with our house and make those features highlight decorative. She understood my vision exactly, and found us these really cool contemporary floating vanities that almost look like a piece of furniture installed in the space. I couldn't fit it in the photos, but we also added a matching bathroom wall cabinet to store towels and toiletries on the opposite wall to tie the entire design together.

When I did our master bathroom update a few months ago, I decided to jump on the bathroom furniture trend that everybody as been talking about. At first I was a little unsure about it because I figured your standard bathroom vanity with sink would be enough to accommodate any storage or design needs you may have, but I figured I would give it a go. The first thing I added was a nice makeup station with matching bench next to our extra large storage cabinets. I made sure to pick a piece that matched the stain of the rest of the units so that the design would be cohesive. Then I added in various bathroom accessories like a towel stand and jewelry hutch that I felt were both decorative and functional. Overall, I do really like the look.
