Now that my daughter has grown up and is entering the middle school, I had been looking for inspiration on how to transition little girl room ideas to fit a preteens style. My favorite place to look at photos was the pottery barn teen catalogue, but their prices were a bit too steep for our budget. I decided to use their fantastic room designs as inspiration for our girls bedroom decor, but design it for less. This is what we came up with. One of our major purchases for her was this fun black canopy bed. She has wanted a canopy since she was very young, so we finally gave in and bought her one for her new room. All of our girls bedroom ideas then had to coordinate with this bed. We chose a white, black and pink color palette to accent the metal of the canopy and bring a well put together look to the space. I was able to recycle her bedside table and storage cubes from the old bedroom, but made it a bit more grown up by adding these hot pink storage bins. Pretty pink bedding and some funky artwork finished off the design.
Little girl room decor are some of the most fun design projects that our company handles. Styling these rooms allows you to be a kid again and imagine all of the creative details that adults do not generally want in their living spaces. My favorite thing about girls room ideas is the wild use of color. This lucky childs room is a prime example of how you really cant go wrong with bold bright shades in a kids space. Obviously, as with any other decor project, you do have to reign yourself in a bit and limit your big design statements to just a few areas. In this room, the whimsical mural was the focal point and other elements like furniture, bedding and decorative accents, were kept fairly simple. Remember this technique as you are picking and choosing girls bedroom ideas for your home. A design always makes a much stronger impact (and looks more high end) when you know when to be bold and when to hold back. This simple purple comforter and sweet stuffed animals were the perfect accent to the fun artwork on the walls.
My daughter has been begging for us to let her incorporate some new teen room ideas into her bedroom now that she is starting the 7th grade. While we are not ready to see our little girl grow up, I have to admit that there are so many cute ideas out there that I really cant wait to makeover her space. The current bedroom is quite large and has a nice white furniture set with traditional detailing like in this room. Her favorite teenage girl bedroom ideas incorporate a bright pink color palette, floral patterns and grownup touches like jewelery storage and a chandelier. This is the inspiration picture she gave me, and I think that it is a very sweet design that can grow with her over the years. I found a similar floral and striped comforter set at pottery barn teen (her favorite store) and we pulled a bold pink shade from that to paint the walls. We are still on the hunt for girls bedroom ideas that incorporate some kind of chandelier to give us some direction on which style to choose. All we have seen so far are those very glamorous crystal varieties, but I dont think that those go with the style of her room.
I have been on the hunt for teen bedroom ideas that are glamorous and elegant because my parents said that I can makeover the upstairs attic to use as my new room. I really like grey and pink as my room colors because they are simple and I see them a lot in the pretty bedrooms on tv shows I watch. I have been looking around trying to find a picture to show them of what exactly I want to do to my bedroom. This is my absolute favorite teenage girl bedroom that I have found on this site. The velvet upholstered bed is just gorgous, and looks so elegant and grown up. I also love how they painted the walls grey to match the bed, but painted the ceiling a nice subtle pink color. None of my friends have a color painted on their ceiling like that so I think it would be super cool to do that in the attic room. I also really like how the pink velvet comforter and pillows matches the ceiling color and has a really soft looking texture to them. The only other girls bedroom ideas I would want to include is adding a crystal chandelier to the center of the room.
I searched far and wide for unique kids bedroom ideas to redo my daughters room. Surprisingly, I was quite disappointed by the limited options I found that fit with what I was trying to achieve. I wanted the space to be fun and child-like but without a ton of Disney and Nickelodeon characters plastered all over the walls and sheets. My favorite part of my girls room decor is the crystal chandelier hanging above her bed. It is such a fun and eye catching piece that makes the room both whimsical and grownup at the same time. She loves her new bedroom just as much as I do.Since I couldnt find girls bedroom ideas in the style I wanted, I came up with this glamorous look on my own. My daughters favorite color is hot pink so I knew I had to utilize a bright shade somewhere in the space. Rather than making the walls blindingly pink, I decided to swap out her carpet for this fun option. To accent the rug, I added a fabulous silver wallpaper on one focal wall behind her bed and painted the rest a simple white.
Girls bedroom ideas do not have to be filled with pink walls and glittery pillows. They can be sleek and modern just like the rest of the home. I just finished up this girls room for a very mature little client who requested all white everything. She said that she wanted her room to look like a very modern style bedroom that she saw on her favorite television show. Her very distinctive design tastes made this room a fun one to complete. We followed her directions and began with a monochromatic white base for the decor. This include white walls and ceiling, furniture, carpeting and bed linens. I felt it was necessary to incorporate a few fun girls bedroom ideas so that the space was not too stark and cold. We added a funky flying saucer chandelier and a few canvas prints featuring pink and gold confetti designs. These added just the right amount of whimsy to the space without moving away from her modern all white dream. The finished product is certainly a grown up room but with little playful touches perfect for a growing girl.
