I know that a lot of people use the internet to find house decorating ideas to inspire the looks that they want to achieve in their own homes. For this reason, I always like to share my home interior design projects in hopes that others will get some design insight or ideas of things they can do to their interiors. It can be challenging to take on a project like redecorating an entire house, especially if you do not have much design or art background. In those cases, I always suggest looking around for a photo of a home you love and wish to replicate a particular room, or even a single inspiration piece like a piece of artwork, furniture, stair railing ideas, or textile that you can base your design around.
House decorating ideas that have a classic modern flare have always been my weakness. I am constantly redecorating all of the rooms where we live as I find new and popular home design ideas that I want to try out. This gorgeous grey and brown ultra contemporary kitchen design has me wanting to renovate our current space to have more of an edgy look like this. I am generally attracted to kitchen decor ideas that feature simple color palettes and clean lines because they make the room seem more open and functional. Not to mention the combination of the bold beige and grey granite against the rich espresso cabinetry and architectural detailing is just stunning.
I wanted to share a second area of one of my favorite projects because I think that the house decorating ideas can certainly inspire others. I find that a lot of bedroom decor ideas floating around the internet lately all have the same look, color palette, and furniture style. One of the things that I strive to achieve with my designs is unique looks that you haven't seen before or that you will not walk into a friends home and see replicated. In this house we combined the old world architectural details against ultra modern furnishings to create a cool dichotomy of styles. In the master, we went with simple beige bedroom wall colors to allow the gorgeous ceiling to pop.
This family den is in dire need of some house decorating ideas to give it some style and flare. We have already tackled the majority of the house interior design, but we have been holding off on this space because it generally acts as a party room for the kids to hang out with friends at night and on the weekends. But we do want to make this space nice for them so we are looking for ways that we can upgrade the space without spending a ton of money. The first thing that needs to go is the old and dingy sectional that we have had since they were babies. I have been particularly loving living room furniture ideas that feature rich brown leather because I think they would go nicely with the large hearth and exposed beam details on the ceiling.
I was a bit nervous when my husband and I decided to take on all of the interior decor ourselves, and rely on our own house decorating ideas as opposed to those of a professional. We began this process with the living room design because we felt it would be the least intimidating as well as a space that we would use the most. I have read a lot about how to get started designing on your own and a lot of places I read said to find some sort of inspiration photo to drive your design decisions. We actually based the interior decorating ideas that we used for this space on a cool French country design that featured a red and grey color palette.
A lot of my clients and even friends ask me what inspires my house decorating ideas and, truthfully, I think that it varies with each room I work on. This particular home has been one of my favorite living room decor projects because the motif we used was just so unique. I was particularly inspired by the stunning architectural details on the tall vaulted ceiling. The ashy grey wood combined with a a sky light at the top gives the space an old world vibe but with some modern touches. This combined with the tile work on the arched doorways and large brick hearth set the stage for a very traditional Spanish style space. However, I wanted to use home decor ideas for living room that were a bit more unexpected.
