As the look of things are quickly changing on the outside, so are the contemporary living room ideas changing on the inside. From the unique creativity in fabric design to the actual arrangement of the pieces themselves, new ideas for living room interior design can bring a fresh appeal to the contemporary setting. In this design, the focus on color and arrangement have helped in keeping a seamless connection between this space's function and over all appeal. Even in a fast paced living environment, this space helps capture the welcomed feeling of tranquility. This design also reflects the ability to create the feeling of user friendliness while holding true to the traditional look of contemporary design. The choices made for living room decor in this setting, bring together the outward beauty of contemporary design with the inner beauty of functionality. This living area reflects a desirable connection between contemporary and usefulness.
I came across this design which perfectly portrays modern living room ideas. Subtle living room decor has been the trend through the decade. But this room design using the ivory white shades with the elegant sofa as the central attraction has really been astounding. The roofing gives a flawless example of vector design with the lights all perfectly aligned. The main innovation being the nine-blade ceiling fan hanging from the pentagonal design in the background. The room design utilizes the large window panes which mingles well with the living room decor. The U-shaped sofa is the center of attraction in this amazing layout. The small tea table, the matching zebra cushions and the pillar give a complete delimitation of modern living room ideas. The spotless maple flooring adds completeness to the living room decor, including the railings in the stair case, all perfectly planned and executed.
This is the perfect example of a living room design that is elegant, but not too flashy. The stylish fireplace occupies a central position in the room, with everything else being arranged around it. With sofas and arm chairs sitting around it, the room has perfect symmetry. Anyone looking for living room furniture ideas can definitely borrow a leaf from this elegant space. An ornately-designed glass coffee table in the middle of the room adds to the elegance of the space. The large, arched mirror above the fireplace creates a sense of space and is a perfect addition to the living room decor. Large floor to ceiling windows make the room feel bright and warm. They also offer a magnificent view of lush gardens. The earth tone colors of the living room furniture blend well with the white walls. An arch opens to the dining area that has a low-hanging chandelier.
Homeowners are often confused on what do with living room wall decor and interior design for the more formal sitting areas attached to a dining room or entryway. Unlike a family room that is used as a daily gathering zone for friends and family, these areas are generally designated for special occasions or formal entertainment. As such sitting room ideas should be a bit more upscale than those that you would use in other areas of the home. When it doubt, I always suggest beginning with a small couch and coordinating armchairs that are a bit more structured and decorative than, for example, a large sectional found in the family room. Next add a beautiful area rug like this one and some eclectic accent furniture to amp up the design. Finally, I like to bring in cool artwork to accent the living room decor we have already added. I think that large canvases and funkier pieces are a perfect addition to these formal designs, and can be fantastic conversation starters when entertaining.
More than just a place for receiving guests, I believe that living room should always reflect a sense of style and creativity. Switching the previous living room colors to a tan-white palette, the floor to ceiling windows lets in the right amount of natural light to complement beige-tan colored sofas sitting on either sides of the room Knowing that just the shiny wooden floor wouldnt appease my earthy side, I decided to play with the earthy living room decor ideas. This explains why there is a green potted plant close to the windows and a sturdy wooden table in between the sofas. Perhaps, my best living room decor remains the table lamps sitting on the stylish sofa side stools. Their soft glow at evening creates just the peaceful ambiance my family craves at the end of each day.
I know a lot of people search for home decor ideas for living room, so I wanted to include some photos of our personal home in hopes that our new design can inspire those of you looking for ways to bring warmth and color to a contemporary home. Our house has a lovely mixture of both traditional architecture as well as modern decorative accents. We have dark paneled floors, a lot of heavy trim work and panelling, and a more colonial style exterior, but our personal decor tastes lean very modern. I decided to use a rich Wedgwood blue color often used in beautiful living rooms of period homes in order to blend the two contrasting styles. A monochromatic beige color palette throughout the paint, furniture and textiles provided the foundation for our design. I then added pops of the lovely blue color into the abstract wall art and plush throw pillows scattered on the large sectional. Although the living room decor is quite simplistic, I think that it makes a bold statement.
