Our client requested a space that they could display their travel finds, that had just a touch of a woodsy rustic feel, and that incorporated plenty of seating for their love of entertaining. We think this living room design met all of those goals. Since we wanted their souvenir collection to be the star of the show, we selected a neutral color palette as the design foundation. Wall paint was white on white with just a small bit of contrast from the rich natural wood window trim. We carried the monochrome palette to the large sectional sofa and beautiful coordinating area rug. Although each of these elements have a soft neutral shade, the contrast insubtle pattern and texture is enough to be visually interesting. To add a bit of style to the room design, we added rows of throw pillows in muted earth tones that coordinated with shades of nature outside their fabulous floor to ceiling windows. The final touch was scattering their travel finds throughout the room, to give the space loads of personality.
