I am so tired of looking at pictures of small kitchens in order to find some direction for ours, that I decided to scrap that idea and just look at beautiful large homes to see what they are doing. Surprise surprise, I was able to find so much more inspiration from these designs than any of the small kitchen ideas that I have seen on here. I feel that most of the smaller homes are all so cookie cutter, with every designer using the same techniques to maximize the space. While I definitely see the value in doing that, those designs just did not do it for me. I want my kitchen design to feel very luxurious, well-style and high end no matter the size, whether that makes it look cramped or not. I would replicate just about everything in this photo in my house and, to be honest, I think it will look fabulous regardless of the size.
These are definitely some of my favorite pictures of small kitchens that I have found on here because they are sized appropriately for what I am looking for, yet they are still incredibly chic and effortless. Unfortunately, I have seen a trend on here that the smaller size homes do not necessarily have the most beautiful kitchens. I understand that the larger houses certainly have more room to work with, but that does not mean that you have to sacrifice great style when you have less square footage. The design in these photos is incredibly simple and fits only in a corner, but each individual elements brings so much elegance and style to the space. I can definitely see me installing a gray and white kitchen like this in our home soon.
For so long, I was stuck behind looking at pictures of small kitchens on here thinking that those were the only spaces that I could use as real design inspiration for our fairly tiny home. Small kitchen design pictures are great and all, but they definitely lack that va va voom of some of these larger and very glamorous spaces. Obviously this kitchen would never fit in our home, but I absolutely adore so many elements of their design. I don't see why we couldn't translate these elements on a much smaller scale into our house. I think that light grey traditional style cabinets would work amazingly well in a kitchen design for small space because it would keep things light and open. And the fixtures and other decorative elements would certainly fit alongside side of them effortlessly.
Admittedly, I was a little bit depressed when I typed pictures of small kitchens into the search bar because I am so used to really sizable homes. My husband and I decided to downsize in order to move closer into the city (which definitely has its benefits) so our rooms are much smaller than we are used to. I guess a positive note is that our kitchen remodel will be much more inexpensive than any that we have done in the past because there simply is not a ton of square footage. Regardless though, I still wanted to ensure that we brought in stunning modern designs to our new spaces through the kitchen remodel ideas that we chose. This small space is actually really beautiful despite the somewhat limited size, and I am very excited to use elements of the design in our own home.
When we were designing this house, I was actually most inspired by pictures of small kitchens because I loved how those more challenging spaces used a lot more creativity and multipurpose functionality than most of the gigantic high end spaces that you could also find in galleries. As you can see, our house did not need a small kitchen design because it is quite spacious, but I took the monochromatic lightly colored concepts from so many of the photos that I saw and translated them here. I really wanted the main pops of color to come from the fabric on my bar stools and any seasonal greenery that happened to be put out. I think we managed to achieve the perfect balance between trendy kitchen ideas 2022 and classic elements that will stand the test of time.
I find pictures of small kitchens to be pretty boring, so I moved straight to the top and started browsing luxury homes for inspiration for our renovation. I tended to gravitate towards kitchen cabinets pictures that feature traditional white cabinets but with every so slightly more contemporary lines to make them look a little bit more current. I like how they still have a classic look that blends well with our wood floors and the rest of the architecture, but they have a slightly more modern edge to coordinate with our sleeker furniture. Above all though, I think that white kitchen cabinets provided the perfect blank canvas to do just about anything in this room that we wanted, and to change up the look over the years without having to gut the place again.
