I have looked at a lot of pool pictures over the past few weeks (we are doing some construction on our backyard) and have seen a lot of fantastic designs, but this one is just unreal to me! I can't believe that these pictures of inground pools are actually residential they look like a resort or some type of fancy health club! I love an infinity pool design but unfortunately our yard does not have a few or really a hill that we could accent with this style pool. I mean, modern pool designs are very complex and creative so many some people have managed to incorporate one in a plain, flat, suburban backyard like ours, but I have yet to see photos of that on here. If anybody knows how we could achieve a similar look in our more ordinary backyard, I am definitely all ears.

Not that I would ever want to insult somebody's design style, but pool pictures like these are a good example of the opposite of what I am trying to achieve in my yard (which can sometimes be good figure that out along the way). I am going through lots of your typical designs as well as trendier pool ideas 2020 to layout an exact plan for our build. The one thing I know is that I don't want it to look like your typical neighborhood pool like this does. I mean it is a pretty pool just not what I am looking for. I want ours to be more modern and look artistic/decorative in the yard. Plus, I want to pay a lot of attention to pool landscaping so that it blends in well with the yard and really enhances the look of the space.

Ordinarily I do not gravitate towards pool pictures like this because I tend to like highly landscaped yards with a lot of design to them. For the most part, I don't think that an inground pool ideas are complete without a deck, carefully planned out accent landscaping and, of course, decor. This yard, however, feels very different to me -- in a good way of course! Despite the relatively minimalistic pool designs (I mean there is no deck or decorative greenery to be found) I actually love the simplicity of it. The beautiful blue pool liner and lush green grass is actually decor enough, and it makes the yard feel like a grand estate. These photos really opened my eyes to the less is more approach and it makes me rethink the designs I had previously planned on for our property.

So many of my inspiration pool pictures feature lavish backyard playgrounds with waterfalls, cabanas, intricate deck designs, and lots of carefully planned landscaping and decor. These backyard pool ideas make you feel like your rinky dink set up is so plain and boring compared to the average person's. I just want to remind you that, even though this property is absolutely stunning, we obviously aren't all millionaires that can afford something like this. You can certainly pick and choose different elements found in these lavish designs and implement them on a smaller scale in your yard. Sure you may not achieve the over the top look of these pool images, but you can still create something fun and beautiful on a much more manageable scale.

These are some of my favorite pool pictures that I have found so far because, although the design is pretty simple and straight forward (literally with the geometric rectangular shape hah) there are so many unique details that make it something special. First and foremost, the pool patio ideas they used with the gorgeous sandstone colored stones and tiered design at the end with built in bench automatically make the design stand out from the rest without being so over the top. Even better, having the majority of your design coming from the actual layout and material of the pool deck keeps maintenance costs low if you don't have to worry about the cost of a ton of landscaping. The other important feature of these inground pool designs are the fountains shooting water across the width of the pool. The cost for a feature like this is relatively low compared to the visual effect.

Goodness, these dreamy California pool pictures on here are really something else! We certainly don't have landscaping like this is Kentucky, so I can't imagine getting to walk out to my backyard and float in a pool while looking at this view. Swimming pool pictures like this really make me want to finally commit to installing one on our property. We have been toying around with the idea for years now, but have either not had the funds or the time to actually invest in the project. I have a whole collection of photos with different styles and ideas that I want to incorporate, so the whole project would really just hinge on the ultimate inground pool cost and how much of the work I can do myself so that we can save a little bit of money.
