Honestly, I would take elements of this living room interior design and use them in very large homes as well just because it is fantastic casual decor that feels so cozy and inviting.

I know that a lot of people probably would not consider these small living room ideas but, compared to what I am used to, our new condo is a lot smaller than before. This room would actually be perfect for the new living room ideas 2022 that we need because it still feels very open, but definitely complete (decoratively speaking) at the same time. My favorite part of the whole thing is probably the floor to ceilings windows and doors that make up most of the walls. Sadly we do not have anything quite as grand, but we still have a lot of light that comes in through the windows. I want to install faux beams on the ceiling just like they have, and then do very similar living room decor. Kind of an eclectic and well traveled vibe, while still being chic and contemporary.

I am so happy to see more and more people on here posting photos of small living room ideas that incorporate a ton of fun color. For way too many years it has seemed like people feel locked into super neutral color palettes for smaller homes because they are afraid of cluttering up their rooms. This is such a shame because color actually brings personality and exciting to small living room designs, it does not take away from them. If you do plain monochromatic designs, I suppose it will feel slightly larger because of the lack of decor. But I would argue that it is not the better design technique. Your living room decor ideas should be representative of your personality and, most importantly, should be comfortable for your family to spend time in.

I have always been afraid to use a lot of color in small living room ideas because I worried that it would overwhelm the room (especially since there is usually a lot going on in there). However, I when I found these photos, I realized that I could be a lot more creative with our living room design. This designer certainly did not shy away from color or pattern; in fact, those elements alone actually make the room appear larger because your eye is drawn in so many different directions. Just about all of the small living room ideas 2022 that I had looked at before emphasized that you should stick with very neutral colors and minimal pattern. But, in my opinion, this design blows all of those out of the water.

I know that this room as a whole is technically quite large, but I had to treat it as a much smaller space and look for small living room ideas in order to make the flow and furniture layout work. It almost would have been easier if there were actual walls dividing the zones because the furniture would have had something to rest on to ground the room. I mean, don't get me wrong, this is definitely one of the most beautiful living rooms I have ever seen (and certainly lived in) and I do love how open it is. Decorating the place certainly has been a little bit of a challenge though (but a fun one). Even something as deceptively simple as picking out the living room colors took some time because I could not decide if taking a risk and going with a dark wall would backfire and make the place look even darker.

I guess you could say that I did not take small living room ideas and suggestions from this site very seriously because I did not exactly eliminate the "clutter" in here. I love eclectic modern living room ideas that feel lived in and worldly -- ones that have a lot of cool are and clearly lovingly collected trinkets on the shelf. It is definitely an art form coming up with these collections and displaying them in a way that does not look messy. That art form is one that I have spent years honing so that I would be able to create a beautiful environment when the time came that I had the right home for it. I will say that I kept the living room paint colors ultra simple (aside from the ebony bookshelves) so that is looks lived in but not cluttered by too much color or pattern.
