Isn't this outrageous small modern bathroom something to absolutely marvel at from top to bottom? I may be quite sheltered from a design perspective, but I have never seen anything done like this in a residential home before. Sure these types of bathroom designs could be something you may except in an ultra trendy downtown hotel, but I can't imagine walking into somebody's house and seeing this! All this to say, I actually am really quite fascinated by the overall design and think that it would be so special in our kids room. I am sure that this contemporary design cost a ton of money to have an interior decorator design and source, but I think it would be so fun in a kids room along side of bold abstract artwork. This definitely goes down in my folder of top small bathroom ideas 2022 to reference later.
I worked really hard on this small modern bathroom off of our in-law guest suite, and I think that my efforts really show. I know that the color palette may seem simple and neutral, but you would be surprised at how hard it is to pick out those perfect neutral shades that you see in just about every bathroom design gallery on the internet. Plus, once you pick a single shade (whether that be for walls or tile), you then have to make sure that the undertones of everything else coordinate. That was probably my biggest challenge because I made the mistake of picking out a paint shade that did not have a neutral undertone. The warmth in the paint meant that I had to find tile and countertops that coordinated. This was more challenging than expected since more contemporary bathrooms these days feature a cooler color palette.
A small modern bathroom is a fantastic way to experiment with how you like contemporary style without committing to a large full size room like a kitchen. Even better, I find that modern bathroom designs are really fun because there are so many fun materials to work without there, and you can incorporate them in really unique ways. For example this stunning cobalt blue and mustard yellow floor would, quite simply, be too overwhelming for most larger spaces. But when you cover the floor with it in a small powder room, it becomes a quirky accent piece. Using all white decor for everything else helped to highlight the gorgeous tile and keep everything balanced. I would highly suggest considering something like this if you are in the marked for unique bathroom remodel ideas and are open to a modern theme.
I would have thought that painting a small modern bathroom in a dark color like this would make it appear much smaller than it actually is. Pretty much everything that you read about small bathroom makeovers says to keep everything light and bright in order to make the space feel larger than it actually is. I had always wanted a deep jade colored bathroom, but we have never had a home that was large enough that I felt comfortable doing it since it went against "the rules." For our latest condo, I figured "what the heck" and decided to just take a risk and try it out. I kept the rest of the small master bathroom ideas pretty simple and monochromatic so that the wall paint was the major design element. I don't know about you all, but I think that the paint color absolutely makes the room and I would not change a thing.
I think that this in an absolutely perfect small modern bathroom (when compared to a lot of master suites these days), that could be easily mimicked in homes of all sizes and styles. My favorite part about the bathroom ideas 2022 that they chose to use in here, is the combination of classic traditional color palettes alongside more contemporary patterns. Dove grey, white, and soft gold metals is such a classically elegant palette, and one that elevates just about any space that you use it in. Rather than going with something really traditional, they went a little bit unexpected with bold mosaic tiles throughout their small bathroom designs with shower wall tile being the focal point of the room. I think that this was such an interesting touch, and one that really sets the tone for the space.
After looking far and wide for a small modern bathroom design that I like, I think that I have finally settled on using this super cool space as my inspiration. Before I embark on just about any design project I always like to find a photo or two that guides me in the right direction as far as layout, color palette, or materials. I find that, if you look in the right places, it is the next best thing to hiring a professional to come up with bathroom decor ideas for you (and without the high price tag that comes with it!) Sure you have to know how to research things online or around town in order to figure out which materials would look similar or match the paint and finish coloring, but that is all part of the fun in my opinion! Small bathroom designs are particularly fun for me because you have to get even more creative with the products that you use.
