It may not seem like much to some of the seasoned interior designers and contractors on here, but I am so proud of this walk in shower remodel that my husband and I tackled this year. We have been avoiding renovating our guest bath for years now because we could not agree on the right walk in shower designs to incorporate. Before this project, there was actually a normal tub/shower combo where the walk in now stands. A lot of the decorating sites that I follow talked about how beneficial it is to rip out the tub and replaced it with a walk in because it makes the space seem larger and is much better for resale. We agreed on that pretty early on but had a hard time getting on the same page with shower tile ideas. I wanted traditional subway tile and he wanted something more modern. We compromised on this lovely neutral stone tile, and I could not be more pleased with how it turned out.
I could not be more pleased with how our master bathroom walk in shower remodel turned out. We got a little bit creative with our small space and actually extended the room into the attic in order to make room for some larger walk in shower remodel ideas that we felt would improve the functionality of the space as well as increase the value of our home. I have watched enough interior design shows to know that we need to stick with a neutral color palette both for price as well as in case we happened to sell the place. To be honest, I really like a clean and simple color palette anyways. We chose tile in a lovely marble material that did increase our shower remodel cost, but I felt it was worth it for purely the design factor.
This is definitely my dream walk in shower remodel because it looks (and I'm sure feels) just like a spa. From what I can tell from my research, the architect is known creating bathroom designs with walk in shower areas that also house a full soaking tub. This is such a unique concept to me because I had never considered combining the two before. This idea actually makes a lot of sense because you can contain the moisture and probably even install a steam component that you could utilize while laying in the tub (how divine would that be). I would love to be able to incorporate this type of feature in our bathroom remodel 2022 but I am just not sure if we have the space (or money) for it. Do you think that it requires as large of a walk in area as they used, or could the same look be achieved at a smaller size?

We had such a good time with this unique walk in shower remodel because most of our clients are too scared to utilize such bold patterns in their bathrooms. I actually think that a guest bathroom remodel like this was, is the perfect place to experiment with more radical designs because they are oftentimes smaller than a master, they are used less, and they do not impact potential buyers as much as some of your larger more costly spaces like the master or kitchen. The entire design of this room was completely inspired by the awesome cream and grey retro style accent tile that runs down the entire center of the room, from the walls to the floor. It was important that we found a way to incorporate walk in showers without doors, so that this tile could be the focal point without the distraction of unsightly metal frames or even a traditional tub.
Even though this walk in shower remodel is a little bit unconventional with the dueling modern and traditional style tile elements, I actually really like how it looks in the space. The glass-enclosed corner walk in shower seems to be becoming a hotter and hotter trend for 2022 especially in smaller spaces like this. I really like this trend because it gives you an excuse to infuse the space with even more style through whatever tile designs you choose for the walls. Most shower remodel ideas like this that you see would have those large marble block tiles all the way up to the ceiling, but the addition of the cool brown pattern really brings something unexpected and special to the space. This is definitely a plus in my book!
