This is such a unique outdoor covered patio design but I am really curious about actually attempting to install something like this at our house. Let's face it, most of the covered patio designs that you see on here are very unsightly. It is totally understandable to have one because it is important to provide some areas of shelter in your outdoor entertaining areas, I just hate when they overshadow or distract from the fabulous architecture or design that you created. This patio cover is mobile so that you can expand or limit its width as much as is necessary for the gathering or weather situation. Plus, unlike most patio cover ideas, it is actually pretty nice to look at on its own due to its more modern silhouette.
Redoing our outdoor covered patio was a long time coming and, to be honest, after it is all said and done I have no ideas why we waited so long. This is definitely our most used space in the house now and I cannot imagine not having it to sit with a glass of wine in the evening. You probably can't tell from these photos, but before we redid the space it was a raggedy old porch with patio awning sticking off of one side opposite the fireplace. We tore the fabric cover off and concentrated just on the covered porch area. I know that we could have probably replaced the fabric elements with one of the new patio cover designs they have out now but, honestly, we wanted to concentrate the budget on installing a nice new tile floor and cleaning up the walls and ceiling. Since we were able to to that ourselves, we had extra money in the budget for some comfy furniture and even a new tv.
This outdoor covered patio has absolutely everything you could ever want in a backyard entertaining area. As you browse through these photos you will see a full outdoor kitchen complete with two gas grills, a large fire pit, multiple seating and dining areas, and fantastic landscaping to top it all off. I came on here looking for covered patio ideas just like this to provide some guidance for what direction I want to take our own backyard. Unfortunately we do not have the space or budget to incorporate everything right now, but I have come up with a staged plan that we can eventually install all of this in a similar layout. The first step to recreating these backyard patio designs at our house is going to be to build the covered area and then purchase some furniture.
Now this outdoor covered patio is just divine and certainly fits anybody's tropical paradise dreams. I came across this luxury villa when I was on here looking for popular patio ideas 2022 to provide some inspiration for our own makeover project. I had been originally thinking to do a more permanent structure that would be attached to our home next to the kitchen, but I love the idea of a freestanding tent like this. Not only would it be far less expensive than most of the other outdoor patio designs that I have been looking at, but I think that it has a much more luxurious feel to it anyways. I would definitely want to install a cool fan like they did and then use the money saved to purchase some gorgeous furniture to fill it.
What are your thoughts on our outdoor covered patio, is it too outdated and we should replace or do you think that we can still work with it. I know that the concept of a retractable awning is considered very old school, and not many homes still have them. It has been working so well for us over the years because we can choose if we want to be shaded or not, but I know that it definitely dates our home. We have been looking into brand new covered patio cost lately, but it just seems like an astronomical price to build on to our home. Are there any other solutions that we have not thought of yet, or could we actually keep our current awning without it looking too aged? Not sure what the design and real estate world thinks about this.
If you have a pool, I pretty much think it is an essential side feature to have an outdoor covered patio because you really need a shaded area to chill in as a break from the sun or or occasional summer storm. Plus, in all reality, backyard patio ideas do not need to be over the top and super expensive. If you have a structural or even cloth enclosure you can decorate the inside pretty simply. Throw in some chairs and/or a dining table, and maybe even a fan for climate control and you are pretty much set. Of course some homeowners (like this one) decorate these spots just as ornately as they do their interiors, but it is certainly not necessary. I would definitely encourage anybody that is on the fence to check out patio covers and see if they are in your budget. I have loved the backyard spot that we created.
