I am so used to doing small bathroom renovations at our homes that it has been such a treat (and change) to decorate this large master suite in the plan that we just moved into. The space itself is decorated quite well (I like the tile, countertops and overall color palette) so I definitely don't think that there is much to do as far as full on bathroom remodel ideas. However, for this room I definitely need some styling advice and ways to incorporate color in subtle and elegant ways. In the past I have avoided using a lot of bold colors in all of our previous small bathroom designs because I didn't want it to look like "too much" if you know what I mean. Now I would love to experiment with the shades that I previously steered clear of like bold blues and maybe jewel tones like a deep burgundy or violet.
I know that this space is not super tiny, but I am still trying to remember the techniques that I use for other small bathroom renovations in order to maximize the square footage that we are currently working with. Good news is that most of the popular small bathroom ideas 2022 that I have seen feature both a tub and a walk in shower no matter what the size of the space. Luckily our master already has both (plus the cute little fireplace) so we are set there. The one thing that I am strongly considering changing here is all of the slate tile. I know that it goes with the log cabin vibe of the home, but it is simple not my style. Since the actual footprint of the home will not need a ton of work, I think that we will have room in the bathroom renovations budget to install some new tile.
I have been so used to doing small bathroom renovations in our old houses that I am not really sure what to do now that we live in this (what I consider to be) huge home! I mean, in the last small bathroom remodel we did, I was trying so hard to figure out how to fit in a walk in shower and now we have a huge one that is probably the size of our entire room before. As you can see, even though the size of the floor plan is awesome, the finishes are really quite outdated. I want to breathe new life into the space with some trendy bathroom ideas 2022 but I want to stay very considerate of budget. I know that marble is very "in," but I am nervous to see the cost of completely gutting the place and having to install all new tile. Does anybody have ideas or guidance on how I can modernize the current granite finishes in here?
I am sure that redoing this room would be consider small bathroom renovations for some high end designers, but this place seems huge to me and I am really not sure where to begin. Luckily there is a lot about this master that I really do like -- the tile, vanity style, and walk in shower to name a few. I just want to switch up a couple of elements that will make it look a little bit more like the rooms in my favorite luxury bathroom design gallery. The first step is definitely swapping out the mirror and light fixtures. I understand what they were trying to go for with both of those items, but I feel like in reality they just look outdate and really brings down the overall look. The other thing that I would want to do is some sort of ceiling accent. I actually got this concept from a gallery of small master bathroom ideas that I came across on here. They put ship lap panelling on the ceiling of an all white bathroom, and it really transformed the entire room.
Small bathroom renovations like swapping out a vanity or hanging a new mirror can really make a dramatic difference to the overall look of your space. However, sometimes little things like that simply won't cut it. When I first decided to upgrade our small guest bath, I thought that I could get away with just doing a quick swap like I just spoke about. However, as I began to plan the space I realized that I would probably need do a little bit more extreme small bathroom remodel ideas like swapping out shower doors, changing up the flooring etc. Well those changes sort of snowballed into me gutting and renovating the entire space! Once I had that gorgeous frameless shower door picked out, I realized that I should probably do something about the old and dingy tile that was now on full display. As you can see, our bathroom renovations 2022 started out small but turned into a pretty big job. I am so please with the final product though!
Okay people, as you can see, our master is in dire need of some good small bathroom renovations to make this space far more appealing to us and any potential buyers in the future. Don't get me wrong, I am all for experimenting with unconventional designs and color palettes and love looking at unique spaces in a bathroom ideas photo gallery, but I think that is is important to go about it in a little more subtle or neutral way in your average residential home. I can see how somebody with a particular taste in decor would absolutely love this space, but your average person probably does not. With that being said, if there are any designers on here that would be willing to work with me on trying to figure out some small bathroom designs with shower stall that won't break the bank, feel free to reach out!
