Bedroom Ideas
Kids room decor is so fun to browse online for because they are much more lively and creative than their adult counterparts. When we were on the hunt for ways to decorate the new room that our two sons would now be sharing, we found a treasure trove of ideas and inspiration to help us with the process. They both insisted that they wanted bunk beds to give them more room for activities in the rest of the space, so we searched around for kids bedroom ideas with unique bed arrangements.

They loved the idea of having a futon in there as well for when their friends stayed over so we focused the design around these two elements. I wanted to keep the color palette somewhat simple so that we wouldn't have to repaint several times over the years before the go to college. They wanted bright red and white (team colors of Ohio State, their favorite football team) but we went with a more subtle green and tan color scheme instead. We love how our boys room turned out and they could not be any happier as well.

When decorating your house, you must always ensure to capture the personality and style of the occupant. So, when designing the youngest toddler bedroom, I had to adapt it to how he would feel in the room. This meant blue had to be the main colour throughout the room as its his favourite colour as well as a calming, secure colour. When it came to boys room ideas, I had to figure out a way he could make use of the space to keep active, I did so by having bunkbeds pushed to the back of the room, with a rug in the middle as the focal point. Also, with any boys room, I had to make it a place he could find comfort. Thus, I placed a large plush beanbag he could snuggle into, accompanied with the rustic tones from the wooden ceiling to give the room a cosy, safe feeling.

My son has requested a room makeover now that he has turned ten, so I have been on the lookout for boys bedroom ideas that were "grown-up" enough to satisfy him, yet still filled with the whimsical touches that I like (I'm not ready for him to grow up quite yet). I thought a sports theme would be a great compromise, and one that would carry him into his teenage years and beyond. I was inspired of boys bedroom decor that featured bold colors that really made the decorative accents pop against it. We selected a dark navy paint color for the walls because he thought it was "cool" and I like how it contrasted against the sports quilt he picked out. To accent this rather bold color, we chose a nice grey for his window alcove as well as the sloped ceilings of his dormers. A coordinating area rug and couch finished off his room update. I think that the finished design looks like a boys room that any kid would love, and it is still elegant enough that I am proud to show it off to his friends' parents.

My twin boys have outgrown their old bunk bed; it was past time for an upgrade. My wife suggested we should take Black Friday to shop for boys bedroom furniture but with family in town, the time got away from us. Theyre stylish young men, so we thought the room should reflect their sophistication the design of the beds, nightstand and dresser compliment the taupe wall and trim. Instead, my wife went online for kids room ideas and found some schemes the boys liked. The old furniture was well worn in the boys room, and they are now teens. Also, by strategically placing the orange lamp along the wall, we brought additional warmth to the room with the soft back wooden chairs. The look is minimalist in hopes to keep things in place and declutter the boys' room.

Now that my stepson is going to be spending time at our house a lot more, I wanted to make him the coolest boys room to hang out away from his younger siblings. Our bonus room had really awesome floor to ceiling windows and tall lofty ceilings so we thought it would be an awesome space to create a really unique boys bedroom. He is really into sports, so one of the main things that I wanted to incorporate were these life size decals that I found on amazon. I also really like teen boy bedroom ideas that had a lot of color and pattern so we wanted to make a bold decor statement through textiles and bedding (the furniture we had already purchased was plain black). When I spotted this blue geometric patterned rug, I knew it would be the perfect piece to tie the entire design together.

I love the run boys room decor in the young man's bedroom. My son asked us if he could redecorate some of his room into a more sports-oriented theme after a couple of his friends got to re-do theirs for Christmas. Considering he still has the same decor as when he was a toddler, we certainly agreed that it was about time that he got a "grown-up" space for himself. We wanted the new space to still look like a kids room, but be adult enough that it could transition easily into his teenage years with him. Thats why this cool sports themed boys room seemed like the perfect design to inspire his new space. Our favorite part is how they hung the team flags from the ceiling on one side of the room as a cool accent piece. We have already been hunting down some on amazon and bay and are going to use other sports memorabilia hung on the wall as artwork. I think it is going to look really cool when we are done!
