Rustic kitchen cabinets certainly aren't for everybody, and I know that a lot of people won't get the appeal of these photos, but I just love this house. I think that the gorgeous natural wood detailing on just about every surface is so unique, and really makes the house feel inviting. I am really hoping that rustic kitchen decor starts catching on, because I would love it if I client came to me and asked for an upscale log cabin design. Wouldn't that be a fun look? I am thinking luxurious touches like a full gas range, all of the chefs kitchen bells and whistles, granite countertops, and then really natural looking cabinetry. The best kitchen cabinets for this look would probably be the ones in these pictures but with a bit more depth to the stain.
When we told the specialists at the home design showroom that we wanted rustic kitchen cabinets to blend with the stone and wood beam features in our home, they were so spot on with the options they gave us. Overall, we were wanting to create a rustic kitchen, but one with modern accents and all the luxury of a high end home. This meant a large island in the center with room for seating, as well as a huge gas stove, plenty of storage, and open shelving to show off our dishes collection. We anticipated that the cost of new kitchen cabinets would be the most expensive portion of our budget, but we didn't want to skimp on cheap units since they would really be the main feature of the space. I couldn't be happier with how the room turned out.
Our designer did a fabulous job of incorporating their rustic kitchen cabinets in an elegant way the created a beautiful and timeless space just like we were looking for. Our main goal of this kitchen remodel was to update the overall style of the space to move away from country farmhouse and more to rustic chic with traditional undertones. Luckily our designer immediately understood the look we were going for and brought us idea boards that perfectly capture what we were wanting to achieve. I think that my favorite part of the entire remodel is the gorgeous stucco hood that perfectly ties in the ashy kitchen cabinet colors. It makes the worn wood finish feel very trendy and high end rather than old and outdated.
The rustic kitchen cabinets that they used in this design are just so cool and like nothing that is out there in the interior decor world right now. I have never seen anything like this home, and I want to copy every single decorative touch that they used throughout the place, from the awesome architectural detailing on the vaulted ceilings, to the rustic kitchen ideas that have just the right amount of primitiveness. My favorite part of the entire design is the antique looking wood doors that were used to cover the refrigerator. I am used to seeing paneled door coverings that match the rest of your cabinetry, but not something as unique as this. As you can see from the kitchen cabinets pictures, the doors perfectly match the natural wood island, but provide a stark contrast against the rest of the more traditionally painted units.
Rustic kitchen cabinets have always stood out to me because I absolutely adore a classic farmhouse style home. That being said, while I do love country kitchen decor, I want it to still have a somewhat high end and luxurious feel -- I don't want it to look like I am living in a barn haha. This kitchen is the perfect embodiment of farmhouse style and luxury living. The paneled rustic white kitchen cabinets have just the right amount of detailing to make them feel upscale, but the exposed wood on the ceiling beams and custom hood bring you back to the more primitive roots. My favorite part of the entire space, is the farmhouse sink that it build into an antique hutch. It is the perfect finishing touch to make you feel as if this is truly a space that has stood the test of time.
I have always been enchanted by rustic kitchen cabinets like this because the make me feel like I am back in my childhood in the log cabin that our family spent holidays in. I know that this look is probably not in line with the trending kitchen cabinet ideas 2022, but there is something so cozy and delightful about them. I probably wouldn't go full on log cabin with the design, but I would love to either do a naturally stained wood for the cupboards or even some exposed beams on the ceiling. If I just brought this rustic element in via the kitchen cabinets, but kept everything else quite contemporary, I think that the look good really work alongside todays decor themes. I am going to come up with a design, then I will repost pictures once it is complete.
