When it comes to universal color palettes that can be carried throughout every room in the house, a blue gray paint color like what is pictured here is certainly at the top of my list. Keeping the entire color scheme of your house all in the same palette is always a good idea as far as creating a cohesive look, but it is definitely a major plus when it comes to resale in particular. Popular paint colors like beiges, whites and grays are fantastic choices for this because potential buyers have a much easier time envisioning themselves in a place that feels calming and put together. If they are not distracted by a bold red statement wall or some garish wallpaper, they are more likely to fall in love with this house as there own.
If I had to list off the items that would make the cut in my dream bathroom it would be blue gray paint, marble tile, a white vanity, and polished nickel accents. To me all of these items are so classic and can certainly fluctuate with changing trends over the years. Blue grey paint is especially fantastic for this purpose because it treads that find line between timeless elegance and bold modern decor (also how I would describe my own personal style). This small guest bathroom is a good example of how you can combine all of the elements I listed into a fantastic space. I believe this is one of the latest Behr paint colors 2019 called "looking glass," and I would imagine that it is going to turn into one of the most popular shades of the season.
My friends have been telling me that I should redo our loft space in a blue gray paint in order to liven it up some. The kids (now teens really) use this separate living area as a more private zone to hangout with their friends without us boring adults around. We kept things pretty simple up there, starting off with the light grey paint you see on the walls now, but I will admit that I think I chose the wrong color. I was trying to go for one of those almost white shades but, admittedly, I have the worst luck picking colors. I always try to flip through those paint colors 2019 idea guides that are supposed to inspire the right choices for your home but, alas, another can of paint bites the dust for me.
While I love my brand new all white kitchen, I am feeling like the lack of color is stifling my personality a little bit, so much so, that I am considering changing the wall color to a soft and smokey blue gray paint. I don't want anything too bold that will take away from the neutral and minimalist vibe of the space, but I do think that a very subtle addition of color through a blue or even light gray paint could make a huge difference in the space. I am hoping that breaking up the white with another shade will make each of the individual elements stand out more without being too bold and "in your face." If anybody has suggestions for really subtle grey blue paint colors, I am certainly all ears!
Blue gray paint was such a fantastic choice for this bathroom because it really brought the color variations in the tile alive and tied in the gorgeous view outside the window. Believe it or not, this is actually one of our kitchen paint colors that, on a whim, I decided to try out in here. I was not thrilled with how our bathroom was looking and, more specifically, how the tile started feeling outdated to me. I know that shades like this are very trendy these days and we had extra paint, so I figured why not slap a coat on the walls in here and see how it look. I am so happy that I did because it looks like a completely different room now.
Blue gray paint is one of those trends that seems to be standing the test of time and I, for one, am so thrilled about it. There is nothing I love more in just about any room of the home than gray paint colors with that elegant blue undertone to give anything it covers depth and glamour. It is surprising what something as simple as swapping out white paint on these bookcases for a blueish shade will do to change the overall feel of the room. Before it seemed almost contemporary, but now just with the addition of Sherwin williams blue gray paint colors, the room leans much more vintage French glamour (which I adore).
