I have always considered living room design to be a very important decision-making process because, oftentimes, it sets the tone for the decor used throughout the entirety of your main floor. When I create plans for clients, I generally try to ensure that there is a nice flow throughout the majority of the primary living area including the kitchen, den, living and dining room etc. When all of your house decorating ideas coordinate and flow together effortlessly, it gives the entire space a very elegant and finished look. For this client, we decided to set the tone in the living room and carry this same look and color scheme into the remaining rooms (other than bedrooms).
Our recently remodeled living room decor guarantees inspiration and ideas for any new design plan. Creating a stonework housing for the fireplace created an ideal atmosphere for the completion of the rooms design. As a centerpiece for our home decor ideas, the light from the windows provided the perfect framework we needed to inspire our final living room design. Since we love the outdoors, our goal was to create a stylish way of making the outdoors a part of our living environment. Adding a simple design to the ceiling helped to accentuate the higher windows while pulling the eye toward the center of the room, and the placement of plants around the room more fully allowed for the interior design ideas of bringing the outside into our home.
We just started building our new house from the ground up so I have been very interested in home design ideas lately as I start to plan out our interior. I have spent so much time on this site just browsing through pictures and becoming familiar with all of the different decor styles and trends that high end designers are using for 2019. Designs like this living room are ones that particularly standout to me. I love the simple color scheme, clean lines, and slightly edgy style that contemporary decor like this brings. The mixture of the modern style sofas and furniture against the rich traditional panelling of the ceiling makes a really nice dichotomy that I think would blend well with a lot of my existing home decor pieces and would age well as trends change over the years.
As I have been browsing living room furniture ideas for our home makeover that I have decided to undertake in the New Year, I have been particularly attracted to unique contemporary pieces like they used in this house. The architecture of the home looks quite traditional with the use of columns, exposed wood beam ceilings and beautiful classic archways. However, with the addition of their cool modern furniture, they completely transformed their home interior design to something way more bold and edgy. We have a fairly traditional style home with a lot of beautiful panelling and classic architectural details like they have. I wanted to step away from that decor style and instead use more modern and edgy interior design ideas like these to liven up the home.
When I redecorated our home recently, I decided to go with neutral living room ideas that would create an elegant and contemporary look throughout the main areas of the house. I think the design turned out nice; however, I am regretting not bringing in more color. As you can see, I layered white, beiges and tans in a variety of different textures, patterns, and finishes to create a warm and cozy look. This blended perfectly with the rest of the house interior design and generated a beautiful flow throughout the entire first floor. Now my question is what accent color I should use to liven up these spaces. I have always been partial to blue, but I am not sure if it would be too bright a shade for the current color palette.
Its always fun to get a client that is willing to experiment with edgy and unconventional interior decorating ideas. With the soaring tall ceilings and large open space of this foyer, I thought it would be the perfect place to utilize a deep grey color palette to accent the beautiful marble floors and staircase. The homeowners love unique modern artwork and bold colors, so they were thrilled with the idea of playing with color as a great backdrop to their curated collections. We decided to keep the furniture and other home decor quite limited in order to let their artwork and ceramic vase collection shine. The walls were painted in Benjamin Moore dove grey and we chose a beautiful coordinating area rug to center the design.
