Home office design is so personal because it really showcases what we each need to feel productive and at our best. I love this contemporary executive office that mixes very serious and edgy elements alongside more funky pieces. It would be very interesting to meet the person that calls this office their own. Perhaps my favorite element of the home office decor is the modern slate-covered fireplace.

It is amazing that it is such a gigantic piece, but somehow manages not to dwarf the fairly small space. I also love the focus on comfort throughout the room. The use of the large leather armchair as a desk seat combined with the plush rug provide a great backdrop for a long day of work. This room is also a great inspiration design for small office ideas because it manages to seem large and open despite the limited square footage. I think the key is in the light colored walls and monochrome palette.

It makes a huge design statement while also bringing some homeyness and warmth to an otherwise very stark and aloof space. Selecting the right office interior design is an important part of making sure you are productive and successful at what you do. Whether you prefer more traditional decor styles like this room, or lean towards a modern and edgy vibe, it is important that your home office space has a few key features. First, any home office design needs sufficient storage as well as an adequate workspace. It is also imperative to incorporate office design ideas that serve multiple purposes, acting as both functional and beautiful. For example, the focal point of this office is the stunning white bookshelves and window seat installed along the back wall. This unit defines the room as traditional decor, and also provides a ton of space and extra areas for seating. If you primarily work on a laptop and do not require a large desktop or areas for writing, a small table with comfortable chair and adequate lighting may be the option for you. If you require more materials for your day to day work, you may prefer a larger executive desk or L-shaped workspace built into a corner.

I love home office decor ideas that incorporate beautiful wood panelling and stately decor. To me there is something so classic about combining these elements alongside a great desk and lush seating areas. I am currently revamping my home office, and am going to use this space as my inspiration. We have 10 foot ceilings throughout our home, so the addition of the inset panelling as in this photograph, will draw the eye upwards to emphasize the height of the room while adding some fantastic design interest. We will continue the panelled look down to the walls by creating a coordinating chair rail and built in bookcases. I run my law practice from home, so I need my home office design to be highly functional. This means a ton of storage as well as areas for filing and a computer. Another item on my list is a sitting area like my inspiration photo. It provides just enough seating without overwhelming the space. As far as a color palette for the home office, I think I will not go as neutral as this designer but instead bring in rich forest greens that I plan to accent with an antique Turkish rug.

So many people tend to overthink home office design. Decorating your office does not need to be a design challenge, especially if you have the right foundation. All great home office ideas begin with a beautiful and functional workspace. This could take the form of a large executive desk, a small built in workstation, or even simply a comfortable chair pulled up to a table as in our space. Once you have decided on this major element, the rest is easy. Your office decor should be simple and functional think pieces that improve your workflow or amplify your creativity. I feel particularly inspired by nature, so I decided to incorporate potted plants on the shelf behind my desk as well as on the tabletop itself. In addition, we decided to keep our window coverings simple because, again, I wanted to experience as much of the outdoors as possible during my work day. My advice to anybody trying to update their office decor, is incorporate elements of your life that you love. For me it is the outdoors, but for others it could be sports, or flowers, or bold color.

I am in the process of remodeling our home office because it is lacking any real design style and, most importantly, it does not have sufficient storage. When you run your own business from home, it is so important to have a space that suits your needs. I love how this room incorporates home office shelving in a way that is, both functional, as well as extremely stylish. The white built in units on both sides of the room maximizes the narrow floorplan, while elongating the room and making it look larger than it is. They provide a huge amount of storage and really amplify the overall home office design. I think this look would be easy to translate into my house by simply purchasing easy to assemble shelving units from a store like ikea or Target. Installing these pieces and then adding some decorative trim will provide the foundation for my new layout. I will then base all of my other home office design ideas off of this. I would like to find a large desk made of a similar style wood then accessorize with art and trinkets that will add pops of color on the open shelving.

Creating a beautiful and functional home office design is imperative for any client, but especially those that work from home. We all know what a clean and well organized workspace can do for our productivity. That is why selecting the right office ideas for the space you are designing can be so important. Whenever I take on a job like this, the first thing I like to do is speak in depth with the homeowner about their needs as well as what makes them feel most productive and creative (if applicable). A successful design takes all of these things into account, such that the office becomes a tranquil and motivating space. This modern home office l created is a the perfect example of how to mold a layout and decor scheme around the clients requests. At the top of their list was a bright and open concept that did not feel cluttered or closed in. To accommodate this, we skipped a window treatment to let in as much natural light and views of the beautiful landscaping. We also kept the furniture and decor minimalistic in order to prevent crowding or mental clutter.
