A well-manicured lawn can significantly enhance the curb appeal of a house, transforming it from ordinary to extraordinary. In this new home design, we chose a lush, green Tall Fescue lawn, a grass type known for its adaptability to various soil conditions and its excellent resistance to heat a common trait in North Carolina's climate. This lawn type not only frames the landscaping design beautifully but also complements the brick siding, creating a refreshing contrast. This luscious green carpet adds an element of tranquility and serenity, making the house stand out in the neighborhood.
One mustn't underestimate the transformative power of a meticulously designed and maintained front yard. Landscaping ideas for front of house can range from minimalist to extravagant. In our case, we chose a layered approach, as mentioned before. In addition to the evergreens, bushes, and shrubs, we added a variety of bright, blooming flowers. The flowers add a pop of color and a touch of charm to the green canvas, and in different seasons, they transform the front yard into a vibrant display of nature's artistry.
House design is a comprehensive process that brings together aesthetics, functionality, and comfort. An excellent house design is one that seamlessly blends all these elements, creating a home that is not only visually appealing but also comfortable and inviting. Whether it's the rich, warm tones of the brick siding, the neutral gray roof, or the vibrant, lush front yard with its well-tended Tall Fescue lawn and beautifully layered greenery, this new home design embodies a perfect harmony of these elements. It is a testament to the transformative power of thoughtful house design.
What do you guys think of this house design that I came up with for our mountain cabin? Don't pay attention to the landscaping around it because it will actually be set in the middle of the woods on a mountain, but the home design software that I downloaded didn't give me the option to do that. I had a lot of fun coming up with this plan and, even though it took probably a week of fiddling around with it, I truly enjoyed every second of it. Not to mention that I feel like I have everything planned out to exactly how I would want it. Modern house design has been something that I always dreamed of, but never actually lived in...until now hopefully. The next step will be to send it to a contractor to see if it can actually become a reality!
I keep coming back to this awesome contemporary house design, but I just don't know if it would look weird in our midwestern suburban neighborhood. We do not have any HOA restrictions when it comes to our house designs or landscaping so that shouldn't be an issue, but I also don't want to be *that* neighbor with the weird house that ruins the vibe of the neighborhood. What would you guys do -- would you just go for it and build the house that you wanted or would you try to conform to the architectural style of your neighborhood? Modern home design is definitely not a thing around here, but this would certainly be my dream house. I would really love some input on what you think we should do!
House design has always been one of my biggest passions, and it is so fun for me to be able to turn it into a career now. I launched my home interior design business about a year ago as a "side hustle" but I was thrilled at how quickly it took off and the homes that I am taking on now. This entry way (and the surrounding living space) is one of my favorite projects to date because I think that we were able to achieve an incredibly unique look that mixes lavish traditional styles with a bit of contemporary flare. I love how architectural elements like a staircase or entryway balcony can create such drama and bold design in a room. I always say to highlight things like a staircase design or really ornate floor because it cuts down on other decor and truly showcases the beauty of the home itself.
As a proud homeowner, the process of expanding my living space has been truly transformative, particularly with the addition of this great room. This room is the epitome of the best home design practices, effortlessly blending functionality with aesthetics. The vast, open space is reminiscent of a cavernous home office, the likes of which I have never seen before. This design choice not only provides ample room for movement, but also creates an atmosphere of freedom and boundless possibilities.
The interior of the house is thoughtfully decorated in a traditional style, adding a touch of timeless elegance to the modern house design. A pair of plush couches serve as the room's centerpiece, strategically placed in the middle of the room to invite conversation and camaraderie. Tucked away in a corner is a desk, providing a quiet sanctuary for those moments when focus and productivity are key.
The house interior design truly shines with the inclusion of an attached sunroom. Large, sliding glass doors separate this sunlit oasis from the main room, providing a seamless transition between the two spaces. The white, vaulted ceilings are adorned with skylights, bathing the room in natural light and creating a sense of spaciousness. Truly, this is the epitome of the best home design, where comfort and elegance coexist harmoniously.
This is a gorgeous house design that I would love to copy but we absolutely don't have the space for it with the size of our property. I am hoping that we can take aspects of this home design and modify it or scale it down so that it would fit better within our suburban community. The main thing that attracted me to this house was the stone exterior, the traditional architecture and actually the landscaping. The tall trees that are planted along the tall sections of the front of the house draw the eye upwards and reflect the architecture. In order to modify a place like this, do you think I could use one of those design your own house programs or should we hire a professional architect?
