I love how this modern house design flows seamlessly into the equally dynamite looking exterior living area. It is hard to make that transition between indoor and outdoor spaces, but designer was able to achieve this perfectly by mirroring the same modern interior design on the outdoor patio. Everything down to the high tech cobalt blue pool lighting perfectly coordinates with the design scheme indoors and makes you feel as if the entire space is one. Of course, I believe that modern home design is probably one of the easier styles to achieve this with because clean geometric lines are found most often in outdoor furniture and landscaping elements.
I don't know if I am gutsy enough to commit to a full on modern house design like this in my own living quarters, but I absolutely love looking at photos of this type of styled interiors. In general, I am definitely not a cookie cutter kind of person when it comes to home decor ideas -- I definitely like to experiment with trends and try unconventional looks. For example, I love the suspended metal sculpture hung over the dining room table as almost a faux chandelier. I would one hundred percent replicate this in my home paired with an all white color palette and some acrylic dining chairs. I even really like the cinder block looking modern fireplace designs that they used at the end of the long open concept living area.
When it comes to interior decor, modern house design is probably my absolute favorite style. I have always been attracted to things slightly outside of the norm -- this was true of decor, artwork, hobbies, and even partners. I am simply not a traditional person and I cannot image myself in a cookie cutter simple house design. This stunning living room is far more my style, with the sleek flat gas fireplace that looks like a piece of artwork accenting the monochromatic furniture and decor scheme. My favorite part of this modern house interior is actually those retro-style armchairs flanking the fireplace. The are a really unique piece and, although they are done in a neutral gray fabric, the unique lines of the tufting give them texture and pizazz.
In my opinion, no modern house design is complete without an artistic coffee table that acts as a centerpiece to the entire room. Of course coffee tables are often the geographic center of the room, but I am more referring to the apex of the design and a focal point from all of the rest of the decor. I love when a contemporary house design has a very neutral monochromatic color scheme (like the warm grey that they used here) that layers a lot of pattern and texture to give it dimension. It is very relaxing and please on the eyes, without being too boring. Then, in order to provide some contrast, you bring in an awesome piece of modern furniture like this bright white acrylic coffee table.
Achieving the perfect balance of style and purpose in a modern house design can be quite challenging. You want your spaces to be as beautiful as they are functional, but it is hard to incorporate all of those products of daily living into an ultra posh contemporary house design. I mean check out these pictures -- where are the televisions, the kids clothes, the shoes that you took off when you walked inside, or the purse that you ditched as soon as you walked in the door. I absolutely love looking at pictures like this, but I will admit that I am not sure how I could actually live with such a high end modern house interior design within the constraints of my actual daily life.
I have never seen such a funky and eclectic modern house design, but I am certainly not hating it by any means. In my experience in the interior decorating world, most of the more contemporary leaning house designs that I work on feature a very subtle and monochromatic color palette and fairly simple materials all planned out to be as sleek and minimalistic as possible. Just because that is my personal taste doesn't mean that I don't think that this room is absolutely stunning in its own way. I think my favorite part of the space is probable how the furniture absolutely sets off the design. Of course the super unique fireplace is very cool and eye catching but, as with all modern furniture, I feel like these particular pieces look even more like a piece of art than ones I have seen before.
