Gray painted rooms are by far my favorite look for the main living areas of a house. I am in love with gray living room ideas like they used in this awesome monochromatic design and I am trying to get my husband to recreate this entire space in our own home. We already have a two story stone fireplace just like this, we simply need to install a few beams (that should be too hard right?) and repaint the walls. I had been planning to replace our living room furniture anyways, so this presents the perfect opportunity to mimic the styles that they used in their grey painted rooms. The taupe shade really pops against the smokey walls and provide a nice backdrop to the throw pillows and accent chairs.
Gray painted rooms are certainly gaining in popularity lately. When I was looking for new shades to use for my home office update, I kept finding tons of gray room ideas in the galleries. I must say, I do like this trend and was more than happy to utilize one of those colors in my space. I think that the soft grey tone (Sherwin Williams Dorian Grey) was the perfect shade to offset the white washed floors and modern accents of our home. Even better, it is light enough that it does not take away from the very minimalistic decor of the room. If you are looking into popular gray paint colors but are not sure if you want to take the plunge, I definitely would recommend settling on one. I have not regretted it for a second.
Gray painted rooms are some of my favorites because they are the perfect balance between masculine and feminine. My husband and I have been struggling to come to an agreement on what type of decor we want to use in our master suite and trying to find accent colors that go with gray. I really love the idea of a classic navy blue like this designer used because it is timeless and really goes with everything. You could easily bring in a pop of yellow, green, or pink for a fun touch or keep it simple and monochromatic as is. My favorite gray bedroom ideas utilize at least two colors, and sometimes even a third for an accent shade. I would definitely throw on a fun pillow on this better or nice blanket.
Gray painted rooms like this are some of my favorites in my portfolio because that have such a classic elegance but with a lovely modern twist. Most people think that a gray bedroom has to be ultra modern but, in fact, you can incorporate traditional pieces and classic architectural detailing to create a really unique look. I would suggest starting with a very subtle paint palette so as not to overwhelm the space with a bold shade like we did in this master suite. Once the light gray paint was on the walls, we started layering in textiles in a similar palette to create visual interest. Bold pieces of artwork, funky light fixtures, and some fun accent furniture finished off the look.
Gray painted rooms are definitely the latest hot trend in home design. In my opinion, gray paint colors have become so popular because they are a lovely twist on your classic neutral but make rooms a bit more stylish than a typical white or beige shade. Before we repainted our master bath it was a typical cool toned beige shade that you see in a lot of homes these days. When I went to upgrade the bathroom color schemes, I wanted to keep with the soft neutral color palette but with a more modern twist. Benjamin Moore Dove Grey was the perfect paint to achieve this goal, and gave the entire space a brand new look. I would definitely recommend it to anybody that is overwhelmed by trying to choose paint shades (I know how stressful that can be).
I am seeing so many gray painted rooms in the trendy design boards lately. Personally, I have been on the hunt for the right blue gray paint shade to redo our guest bathroom. I am thinking to do a brown and blue look like this designer created, but with some decorative bead board trim on the walls. My favorite part about this particular space is the gorgeous tiling and coordinating countertop. It contrasts against the blue paint beautifully and gives the entire space a fresh and contemporary look. I definitely want to find out the shade that they used for their bathroom wall colors but am not sure where to look. If anybody knows, please reach out!
