I guess I should not be surprised at how much a kitchen cabinet makeover would revive the main living area of our home, but I just can't get over how much of a difference it truly made. I saw so many articles on here about painting kitchen cabinets that I go super inspired to do it at hour house. The original finish of the units that we have was the dark cherry color that we kept on the island. We opted for a cream white shade for the rest of the units just to brighten things up in here. And boy did it do just that! The combination of the lighter paint on the cabinets and the new crystal chandeliers made it feel like a completely different house even though we really did not spend that much money. If anybody is considering kitchen makeover ideas like this, I would simply say to go for it! You will be glad you did.
I loved this gorgeous Parisian style kitchen cabinet makeover that I saw on here so much that I immediately ran to the corners of the internet to figure out how to do it on my own. We have a pretty similar kitchen cabinet design as far as the panelling, column details, glass windows, and finish of the stained wood portion. So I just needed to figure out how to glaze the top parts indigo and where to find those materials. Well good news is that it wasn't hard to find either, nor to actually achieve a very similar look. I will post photos of my finished design soon, but figured that I would start with my inspiration photos in case anybody else is on the hunt for some eclectic kitchen cabinet paint colors as well.
This is exactly the look that I want to achieve with our kitchen cabinet makeover, down to the cute gold knobs and light fixtures and everything. I got so discouraged looking in the galleries of small kitchen makeovers because I felt that our design and overall style may really be limited by the size o our home. I decided to expand my search and see what else was out there that I could potentially just modify to make work in our layout and square footage constraints. I think that it will actually be relatively easy to replicate this home if we get new kitchen cabinets and paint everything the same soft white color. Overall this design is great for small spaces because it is so light and airy.
My wife and I decided that we wanted to do some type of kitchen cabinet makeover, but I was nervous about the cost to completely gut and replace all of the units in our large home. I took it upon myself to research different types of kitchen remodel ideas in order to figure out what our options were. The moment I went into Lowe's and asked for an estimate of what it would cost to replace, I knew that that option would be off the table. I did like the idea of having white cabinets in there though, so we started investigating painting our existing units. The price and the ability to transform the entire space quickly sold me on the idea so we started narrowing down our favorite trendy kitchen cabinet colors 2022. Well ultimately we chose this white shade, which may mean we are boring, but we love it all the same.
When my wife told me that she wanted to plan a kitchen cabinet makeover, I figured that I needed to get ready to brace myself and get my wallet ready to open wide. Well, little did I know, that kitchen makeovers 2022 don't necessarily have to be as costly as they were ten or twenty years ago because there are so many cool products and materials on the market that can make your life so much easier (and economical). They have these websites that you can basically design a custom kitchen with just about any kitchen cabinet ideas that you could dream of, and they will build the pieces and send you them all to put together on your own. Sure you have to be a little bit handy with power tools, but the money that you save (and the bragging rights to your neighbors) make it well worth it.
We took a risk doing this kitchen cabinet makeover because our contractor said that removing upper cabinets can take away a ton of storage and accessibility space, but I am so glad that we didn't back down. I have gone through several plans for kitchen makeovers over the years, but have always found one issue or another that prevented us from actually getting started. With this one, everything seemed to fall together so seamlessly, that I knew that it was "the one" so to speak. We ended up tearing out all of the old kitchen cabinets as well as the floor and just started completely fresh. That was the best thing that we could have done because it meant that the whole project only lasted about 2 weeks from start to finish, until we had this gorgeous finished product.
