Some people are afraid to play around with bedroom wall colors but I, personally, like to make a bit of a design statement even with just the walls. For this master we wanted to pick shades that would highlight the modern bedroom furniture we chose including the cream leather upholstered bed and lovely tweed sofa at the end. I pulled a darker charcoal shade from the sofa to use on the focal wall behind the bed. This choice really made the lighter bed pop against the rich grey hue. For the remaining walls we used one of my top bedroom colors 2022 Benjamin Moore Simply White. Although at first glance this shade is just a neutral white, the slight warmth to it gives it a lot of depth and richness.
Ever since I purchased this muted aqua upholstered bed frame, I have been struggling with which bedroom wall colors I should pair with it. Most of the wall painting ideas I see used with a colorful bed like this tend to be neutral shades that allow the piece to really pop against it. We started with this warm toned cream color because I thought that it would still allow the crisp white trim to stand out against the base, but now that I see it painted on the wall, I am not so sure that it was the right choice. I worry that the undertone of the paint is too warm for the other master bedroom colors that we used, and looks somewhat off and out of place. What do you all think is the shade appropriate or should we repaint the space?
On my hunt for good bedroom wall colors to use in our guest room, I have come across a ton of very cool toned shades (I guess that is popular now) but something that has richness and warmth to it. While I do like some of the popular contemporary designs that I have been seeing a lot lately, for the bedroom color schemes in my own house, I want them to be warm and cozy not harsh and stark. I really like the shades they used in this room because they are simple and neutral against the bright navy accents colors, but the paint has some depth to it that looks nice against the pure white trim. I want to use paint color ideas just like this in our house in an attempt to recreate the same serenity that they were able to achieve here.
Whenever I am having a hard time choosing bedroom wall colors for a design, I like to just sit in the space with a few of our key pieces such as a textile, piece or artwork or furniture selection and imagine what the room would look like in different shades. Of course not everybody has the freedom or experience to pick out bedroom paint colors this way, so I always suggest visiting your local paint shop and asking for small samples of all of the shades you are considering. Then paint a piece of cardboard or a small piece of thin wood and bring it into the room or place it against your decor in order to find the best fit. When we first started looking into room painting ideas for the bedroom we were originally going to paint it a deep burgundy shade to match the stately furniture, but quickly realized that a lighter and more neutral taupe would be a better fit.
I really liked these funky bedroom wall colors because they sort of created an opposite paint palette than you usually see. In general, most designers keep interior paint ideas quite neutral in order to provide a versatile base to whatever design motifs they want to use in the furniture and decor. However, in here they did the opposite and when with very neutral cream themed furniture and bed linens, but put all of the color onto the walls with a combination of salmon and turquoise shades. Although this was a slightly unconventional technique, I think it makes the design very unique and still incorporates the best bedroom paint colors just in different materials and mediums. I wish more people would be brave enough to think outside of the box with their interior designs like this homeowner.
People may think that I am boring and lack exciting design sense, but I really like simple white bedroom wall colors whether I am decorating a master suite or a guest space. In my opinion, a white colour bedroom is very classically chic and can take on both modern and traditional style designs. This gives you so much versatility and pretty much guarantees that whatever decor motif you use will be successful. As you can see from our master bedroom photos, we went with an all white color palette but brought in a lot of textures and patterns in order to give the space some vibrancy and decor. In my opinion, the best bedroom colors are ones like these that create a very simple and serene space that instantly relaxes you from the moment you walk through the door.
