Patio pictures like this really make me want to move someplace tropical, if for not other reason than lounging outside with that view in the evenings. Pool pictures are nice to look at, but if a yard doesn't have a view, I will be honest, I am not impressed. I have been so spoiled by this site that I have some high standards when it comes to luxury homes. Of course I am not living in one right now, but that doesn't mean that I can't dream right? This would probably be my ideal location and my ideal layout because it is big enough for large gatherings yet feels quaint and intimate at the same time. I suppose that I can attempt to translate these patio design ideas to our home here in the midwest, but I just don't think it will be the same.
A lot of people will probably wonder what it is about these patio pictures that draw me in so much, and honestly I am not quite sure either. If I had to pin point one thing in the entirety of these backyard patio designs, I would probably say that it is the shear amount of greenery that their backyard holds. Although the pool and deck is really nothing special, something about the lush green lawn and gorgeous mature trees really sets off the entire space. The only thing that I think they could change to make in more in line with today's trending patio ideas 2020, would be to bring in some brighter colors through planters, flower beds and even some textiles like pillows or an outdoor rug or two.
I don't really think that these patio pictures that I took do our backyard justice (especially after we just renovated it). If you can't tell, I will just describe what we did out here so that you can truly appreciate the transformation. First of all we replaced the old and outdated patio pavers with this awesome slate floor. I think that it really helps to tie in the architectural style of our home as well as the cedar shake siding and moss green trim. Not only does the coloring bring it all together, but I think that it brings a very distinct and much more high end vibe to the space. The second largest thing we did to upgrade our backyard patio ideas, is to install this semi-circle of hedges to act as a wall to portion off the outdoor living space from the rest of the yard.
I was so pleased with how our landscaping project turned out, especially after our family friend snapped these patio pictures for our portfolio. We are by no means professional designers, but we do like to dabble with projects and experiment with different design ideas in our own house. I research small patio ideas for months thinking that our fairly limited yard qualified as a smaller space, but when we finished up our projects and I realized how much space we do have I have changed my stance. I definitely think that this should be considered a large yard with substantial areas to lounge and entertain. I want to post these in galleries of small patio pictures to show homeowners that you do not have to box yourself in to certain styles or categories.
These patio pictures make me truly happy because they remind me of hot summer days spent out back by the pool. I did not just post these photos as reminders of happier times, I also posted them with the intention of inspiration others in need of some basic patio ideas. I know exactly how they feel coming on here to find ideas for their home, because we were those people just a few short months ago. Trying to narrow down or explain to your contractor what you want for your outdoor patio designs can be so challenging especially if you don't know what you want or have no idea how to articulate it.
This has to be one of my favorite patio pictures that I have seen on here, primarily due to the awesome checkerboard pool deck design. I am sure that it has to be a pain to maintain, but these patio designs are just so gorgeous and really evoke that feeling of luxury that I want my home (especially my outdoor spaces) to embody. I think that the backyard is an under appreciated zone of the house and one that so many homeowners simply overlook as a potential area to bring great style to their living spaces. Whomever designed this space definitely understands how to truly create a living space outdoors that you want to spend time in.
