I sort of thought that kitchen island ideas 2022 might be a little bit different than years past (mostly because trends have been changing lately), but I guess they have remained just as popular as ever. Honestly, it makes a lot of sense because kitchen island cabinets add so much versatility and function to the room. I mean you could essentially have up to 32 square feet of additional storage space if you have a 4x4 foot island with 2 levels of shelf. And that is just a super basic design! There are so many cool kitchen storage ideas these days that you could easily trick out your island and make it into a functional work of art. Ours has garbage and recycling cans, pots and pans drawers, a knife block, and even an awesome custom spice organizer.
Since I do design professionally, so many of my friends have been asking lately if I think that kitchen island ideas 2022 are still going to favor the large units of years past. I think it is funny that people think that trends will change so quickly, especially for something so seemingly standard as kitchen island ideas. This is one of those elements that will be around for a long time as it is such a staple to the beauty and functionality of most kitchens. If you want to do something a little bit "trendier" so to speak, I would suggest painting your island a different color than the rest of your cabinetry. This is especially fantastic in your typical white kitchen 2022, because there is usually not much color infused into the design.
I really tried to bring some trendier kitchen island ideas 2022 into our newly renovating space, but I am not sure if I missed the mark here. I feel like the island looks too small within the scale of the rest of the room. Not only that, but the black color that I chose (I was trying to stick with popular kitchen cabinet colors 2022 that I saw on here) seems to clash with the natural wood of the rest of our units. Am I crazy to think all of this or do you all agree with me that we should have done things differently? At first, I really thought that small kitchen island ideas would totally work in here, but I am thinking that I should have gone larger on the size and then stuck with a lighter finish. Oh and matched the countertops in the rest of the room as well.
The single trend that I have been most excited about for kitchen island ideas 2022 is the oversized look. This home is a perfect example of how a large island can make such a statement, especially if you have a large kitchen layout to begin with. I realize that the average kitchen layouts with island are certainly not this grand and spacious, but if you have the room to do it, then I say go for it! Not only are these features beautiful to look at (I mean look at that rich black finish), but the amount of storage and counter space that they add is absolutely astounding. I would highly encourage you to experiment with kitchen island designs and see if something like this may be right for your space.
The one upgrade that I wanted to make to our home this year was to incorporate some type of kitchen island ideas 2022 that would give us more counter space. We had kind of an awkwardly shaped kitchen that did not really take advantage of the square footage that was in there. Small kitchen ideas 2022 did not really work because we had the space, the entire room was just laid out so weird that we barely had any storage or counter space. That is until we installed this gigantic custom island! This modern kitchen island still blends with our slightly more traditional cabinet design, but it added a nice contemporary flare to the space. Not only that, but the amount of storage and prep room that I gained is just out of this world.
Okay so, I found this home in a gallery of kitchen island ideas 2022 on here, and have not been able to get this kitchen out of my head since! Luckily we are in the process of renovating our home (well the planning stages) and I already knew that we wanted a large kitchen island, but I had never even imagined doing one this gigantic and grand. I mean it has everything you could every want, from seating, bountiful storage, tones of counter space for cooking, and even a large butcher block for baking or entertaining. I mean the entire thing is stunning -- and profanely has more counter space than some people have in their entire kitchen haha. The only thing that I am not sold on is the kitchen island lighting ideas that they used. The pendents and that tracking lighting contraption just don't do it for me.
