If you have some extra room in your master bath and are looking for additional storage, a bathroom wall cabinet tucked between two vanities is a fantastic option. I am seeing this feature more and more in the trendiest bathrooms for 2022, likely because the units are both functional and beautiful as they extend the finish of your cabinetry upwards towards the ceiling to maximize height. These features can be placed on bathroom vanities with tops like in this home, or they could also be installed as freestanding units flanking each sink or even across the room.

The options are endless and can be customized based on your floor plan and size constraints. My favorite way to utilize this trend is in the same way that this designer did. I love a bathroom wall cabinet used as a barrier between his and hers vanities. This creates a visual divide between the two areas and can provide a bit of privacy between the two sides. Plus, if you have a lovely tall ceiling like this, a tall and narrow cabinet accenting long bathroom vanities will draw the eye to the ceiling, rather than across the wall, to further accentuate the height of the room.

Bathroom sinks and vanities provide the foundation of design in this room. They are the largest and most visual element and, as such, play a large role in establishing style choice and color palette. For this reason, it is important to pay close attention to the cabinet style, finish and overall construction of these units so that it sets the correct tone in your new bathroom. Some small spaces only have room for a miniature cabinet or pedestal sink, while other sizable suites can accommodate larger and more luxurious bathroom vanity cabinets like this one. No matter the style or finish that you prefer, be sure to pay attention to scale when you select your unit. In a space that houses so many required features like showers, bathtubs, sinks, and toilets you want to make sure that the size of your bathroom vanities does not overwhelm the space. A long unit with clean lines makes the most of the narrow floor plan in this master bath, whereas it may look overwhelming in a room with shorter dimensions.

Many homeowners that I meet with are scared of tackling bathroom design themselves because they feel unsure of how to layout the space since there are so many items that are generally included in these rooms. I always tell them to think about tubs, toilets and vanities like bathroom furniture, and arrange them on the floor plan just as you would a couch or dining table in any other room. I tend to plan out the larger more complicated items first, especially those that require plumbing like a shower or tub. Bathroom sink cabinets are much more versatile and can be popped in virtually anywhere that there is a free corner or few feet of wall space. Once you have all of the items laid out, you can start to layer on the finishing details like lighting, tile work, towel racks etc. I usually consider bathroom vanities to be the focal point of the room, so I concentrate most of the decorative items there. Make sure you include a decorative mirror, beautiful light fixtures, and a nice countertop to finish the look.

When we were looking for a home, a double sink vanity in the master bath was pretty much number one on our list. My husband and I like to have our own dedicated spaces when we are getting ready in the morning or winding down at night, so this was an essential feature. When we first viewed this home, I knew it was "the one" because of how gorgeous and spacious the master bathroom is. Perhaps my favorite decorative feature is the mirrored bathroom cabinets dividing our two sinks. Not only did it have duel bathroom vanities just like we wanted, but there was so much additional room for storage and even a dedicated makeup table for me. I love this unit because it gives each of us a bit of privacy and even has dedicated outlets inside so I can keep my hair dryer and curling iron organized and plugged in at all times. Between this vanity area and the large soaking tub in the center of the bathroom, it was the master suite that sold me on this house.

A traditional bathroom vanity with sink options work when they are coupled with a decor that allows the furniture to stand its ground while lending its color scheme to the surrounding look. This expansive, gorgeously textured vanity provides the room with just enough depth to lift the solid browns of the walls while not overstaying its welcome against the backdrop of the regal vanity lights. The bathroom sink is well placed, offering access to the entire mirror, while giving the illusion of an even more spacious room. There is no need for huge accents, which is an advantage with rooms meant for utility. Large accents tend to suffocate, but the vanity sucks up just enough air from the room to create balance. Yes, bathroom vanities are meant to beautify the room they are in, which helps to provide the space for the homeowner to feel more beautiful herself.

Replacing old and outdated cabinetry with modern bathroom vanities is a great way to give your space a more contemporary twist while increasing the value of your home. I love a sleek dark wood vanity like this one that features simple clean lines, a monochromatic palette, and some awesome chrome detailing in the hardware and faucets. A piece like this keeps the bathroom looking fresh and open -- two things that are a must in any contemporary home. If your space allows, I also highly suggest investing in a double vanity if you do not already have one. These are hot ticket items in the real estate world, and lacking duel sinks in the master bath can be a huge turn off to potential buyers. Of course, this does not require you to install an extremely long design like this spacious room, but a simple duel sink vanity is a much in today's market. If you are afraid of the cost, check out your local home improvement warehouse for cool design at great price points.
