This is our new bathroom, and we love it! I'm constantly asked how we made it all work. We started by looking at small bathroom ideas that were practical yet pretty, and wouldn't cost a fortune. We chose a walk-in shower with glass doors that could replace our aging surround tub. The shower is lined with colored, textured brick-style tile that is a nice compliment to the old school washbasin that serves as our kitchen sink. Finding bathroom wall decor ideas that would work for our tiny space was a fun task! The vintage mirror hanging over the sink and old school oak vanity table lends character and matches the faucet hardware. The picture over the toilet came from a garage sale.
One of my favorite ways to amp up bathroom wall decor ideas, is by using coordinating tile. Whether you are working with a lovely travertine piece or classic subway tiles, I think that popular bathroom decor 2019 trends can always be amplified with an additional accent tile to complete the look. For example in this awesome contemporary meets old world Spain vibe master, we went with a simple travertine up the walls, then bordered it with a lovely mosaic, then completed the look with a really cool digital design behind the vanity mirror. Layering bathroom tile ideas is a great way to keep things neutral but still bring in a lot of visual interest and design.
So many people forget about textiles (specifically curtains) as a way to upgrade your bathroom wall decor ideas. I am a big fan of layering when it comes to design in any room of the house. I am always surprised to see that, for most people, the only textiles that they incorporate in their bathroom makeovers are towels and bath rugs. If there is a window in the space, you really should consider completing the look with gorgeous curtains or an elegant valence like we did here. The silk fabric and luxurious trim is the perfect finishing touch to the rest of the neutral bathtub ideas we incorporated alongside the jacuzzi here.
I am absolutely loving the latest trend in bathroom wall decor ideas that incorporates ship lap everywhere. My favorite thing about shiplap is its ability to brighten up both traditional and contemporary homes. The bathroom decor in here looks cottage chic, but you could just as easily pair it with dark grey cabinetry, black and white granite countertops and have an awesome modern style look. I have looked into installing ship lap yourself and having a contractor do it, and it really isn't that expensive either way. But the fabulous way it makes any room in the bathroom design gallery look makes me really want to go ahead and make the investment into having it installed at our house.
I love trying new things with my bathroom wall decor ideas, and I know that some people think that I am crazy with my weird tiling and huge architectural features but I can't help what I like. This is my latest foray into bathroom tiles design in our new master suite, featuring an awesome jacuzzi framed by a tiled archway and walk in steam shower behind. Even my husband like this design because of the classic brown and beige color palette (usually I am a bit more bold with the schemes I choose. These bathroom decor ideas were inspired by a trip we took last year to Egypt, I just loved the simple yet elegant design used throughout the ancient temples and pyramids.
I will admit that I tend to go a bit overboard with bathroom wall decor ideas, but I just love adding artwork and trinkets to my home to bring personality and pizazz. Whether I am working on our large living area or I am playing around with small bathroom wall decor ideas, I always try to pick my pieces based on the color palette and the "feel" that I am trying to create in the room. I wanted the guest bath to feel a bit like walking into a museum so I hung up some of my antique prints and flanked the gilded mirror with traditional style sconces. You could easily do this with more modern bathroom ideas 2019, if that is the style you like or you could take things more country with flea market finds (I love that look too).
