Bedding sets & collections are my favorite thing to pick out when redoing these very private and serene spaces. To me, bedroom sets are the element that really ties the room together both decoratively as well as functionally. Obviously these rooms are dedicated to sleeping so you want them to be as relaxing and functional as they are decorative. For this reason, I send to focus on selecting bed linens before any other element in the room. Whether you have a king size bed or you are decorating a crib, it is always the main focal point of the room. As such, I always encourage you to spend a little bit more on the details that will make that particular spot special and noteworthy.
I am always on the hunt for classic bedding sets & collections that blend well with my very traditional style home. Ever since I was a child, I have always loved the look of period homes because they make you feel as though you are stepping back in time. With this, I have always adored a full size bed with a canopy or other unique adornments that you can find in museum houses throughout the world. When we were redecorating our guest bedroom, I wanted to include a bed like that in order to make friends and family feel like they are staying in a quaint bed and breakfast. The beautiful toile wallpaper became my starting point for the rest of the decor, and I accessorized with pretty monochromatic bedding sets in order to let it shine.
I have been looking at bedding sets & collections for months in order to figure out what I wanted to use for our new master. I am so glad I came on here and saw these photos, because I absolutely love the queen bedroom sets that they chose for this space. The combination of a simple white linen base with bright pops of color throughout the throw pillows is so eye catching and softly contemporary. I didn't want anything too bold but I also did not want uber simple, so this is the perfect blend. Unfortunately though, I love the look so much that I am not going to hunt for bedroom furniture sets that imitate the one in these photos so that I can recreate the look as closely as possible.
Bedding sets & collections are such an important part of setting the style for your space and well as keeping a nice cohesive look. When I am purchasing bedroom furniture for a client, I always look for timeless pieces that would work, not only for the design we are currently planning, but also for a variety of other styles just in case they change their decor preferences in a few years. Especially if I am picking out large king bedroom sets, I like to keep things simple and classic like in this room because they are such a physical large part of the design. I always advise client's to think long term for large purchases like this, and don't necessarily go with what is "in" and trendy now.
Bedding sets & collections are one of my favorite things to swap in and out of my home because they can change the entire look of the space at the drop of a hat. I change my mind a lot especially with interior decor, so having a few different bedding collections on hand allows me to essentially redecorate every season or even every week if I want to. As you can see our upholstered bed design is quite bold so I do have to keep my linens a bit more on the subtle side, but I can still have fun and play around with different patterns and color palettes when I get bored. I particularly love queen comforter sets that have a fairly neutral backdrop, allowing me accessories with bright fun throw pillows.
It can be a bit hard to find bedding sets & collections that have a more modern style. Most luxury bedding I have found in stores features way too many "frufru" details for my liking such as ruffles, silk and velvet fabrics as well as (in my opinion) unnecessary embellishments. As you can tell from the photos, my home is quite contemporary in style, and I really like to stick to simple color palettes, clean lines, and very limited pattern. Believe it or not, after looking at tons and tons of king comforter sets in the store and online, I actually ended up finding the one I love on Amazon! The simple comforter and plush pillows were the perfect shade to coordinate with my decorative arm chairs and it also compliments the wood trim beautifully.
