Bedroom Ideas
When we started drawing up plans to build a new home, our family decided to add a fireplace to the living room. Our builder suggested we first look at fireplace ideas pictures, and we quickly went to work comparing gas fireplaces, traditional fireplaces, and other styles. We wanted our new fireplace to be long-lasting and require little maintenance. We also wanted something that would enhance our rustic decor, which is why we narrowed our focus to stacked stone fireplace ideas.

Stone fits well with our open design, large windows, and heavy wood beams. Stone is also easy to clean and would last the lifetime of our home. Fireplace ideas are easy to find and building one into a new home or adding one to an existing home is less of a challenge than you may imagine. Today, our favorite room in our house is the living room, thanks to our new fireplace.

When you're considering building a new home, or you're upgrading your current residence, don't be afraid to look at fireplace design ideas. A fireplace adds warmth to a home and lends to a relaxing atmosphere. Stone fireplace ideas can be easily blended into almost room style or size. Stones used in fireplaces can be large or small, brightly colored or natural-looking. An added mantel above the fireplace also creates an instant shelf and a touch of class. The options are endless. If you have fireplace ideas for your home, speak with a builder, price materials, and design a look that fits with your decor and lifestyle. Fireplaces add warmth, mood, and value.

One of the best things about owning a home is that you can make any sort of changes or additions that you want, and at any time. Fireplace ideas were something that caught our eye after buying our first house. We loved the solid builds, warming atmosphere, and energy savings that fireplaces could provide. We looked first at modern fireplace ideas because those would blend best with our sparsely furnished living room and Scandinavian-inspired home. We wanted something simple that wouldn't overwhelm the room but would be one of the main features of our home. Our builder had us look over painted fireplace ideas, and we were sold. We were thrilled to learn we could have a fireplace made that matched our dark gray walls perfectly. Our finished fireplace is a small addition to the room that has added tremendous value and entertainment.

One-of-a-kind fireplace designs are a thing of beauty, and not at all difficult to add to your existing home or incorporate into a new house building job. Whether you're hoping to add a gas fireplace or more traditional wood fireplace, determining what materials you'll need is your first step. The best fireplace ideas can be found through searching online, reading up at your local library, and speaking with area builders and home designers. Using a cost calculator in the beginning phases will give you an idea of how much you'll need to save for materials and for labor if you're hiring out. Fireplace ideas are everywhere, including in the homes of family and friends.

Our home was built in the 1970s, and that means it came with shag carpeting, a brick fireplace that had seen better days, and lime green walls. We started our fireplace makeover this year by looking at all the many options available today, including enclosed fireplaces, open-hearth units, wood-burning stoves, and fireplace conversions. Thankfully, we had some idea of what we wanted. We focused on modern fireplace designs that we hoped would complement our new tiled floor, sleek furniture, and freshly painted walls. We picked stone as our material of choice and built a trendy, modular fireplace along one wall. If you want to add warmth to any room, try looking at fireplace ideas. Fireplace additions deliver on value and are inexpensive additions to any home.

Great fireplace ideas are always an asset to any home whether you install one in the living room, bedroom, or your outdoor areas. My favorite way to tie these awesome decorative pieces in to the space is to also install some sort of beams onto the ceiling that coordinate with the fireplace mantel ideas that you choose. In this home, we chose a chunky wood mantle and then reflected that in the awesome cathedral vaulted beams on the ceiling. We kept the fireplace decorating ideas fairly simple in order to let the new architectural detailing be the focal point of the room. I love the finished look because it combines elegance with just a touch of rustic design.
