I am so glade that I discovered these cool contemporary room ideas that this awesome modern living room design features. I had been searching around online for room design ideas to inspire our main living area downstairs. We have an open concept home, so the style that we use in that space will set the tone for pretty much the entire area including the kitchen and dining room. I wanted something elegant yet inviting that would both "wow" and welcome friends and family without making them feel too afraid to sit on the furniture or enjoy the space. I think that the small living room designs that they used were the perfect mixture of timeless pieces alongside some more contemporary touches like the fur stools next to the upholstered ottoman and the beautiful abstract art on the walls.
I have been on the hunt for room ideas to transform our master, but I haven't been able to find anything that really fits our style. That is until I saw these photos! My husband and I have a very minimalist style, and we really prefer simple bedroom ideas without a lot of fuss. I definitely like a neutral color palette and traditional style furniture with simple and timeless lines. The gorgeous wood bed in this bedroom definitely fits into that category and I would love to figure out where to buy it so I can replicate the look exactly! I also love the monochromatic paint and textile palette that creates and effortlessly chic look against all the natural woods they used throughout the rest of the room design. This space gets an A+ in my book, and has definitely inspired our new bedroom design.
We just finished up installing all of the room ideas that our designer planned for us and we could not be happier with how it turned out. We went to her looking for home decor ideas for living room that would be modern and chic, but allow us to incorporate all of the things we have collected on our travels (like this awesome coffee table from Africa). She went with a pretty neutral color scheme so that our collections would provide the main decor elements -- I think that this was brilliant. Generally I shy away from monochromatic interior design ideas like this because I had always feared it would make things look too boring. I actually love how it turned out and would definitely encourage anybody trying to achieve a similar feel in their home to use our room as a model.
I am loving the cool beachy room ideas that this California cottage has. This is a different style of living room design than I have seen in a lot of decor magazines and galleries online, and it is always exciting (and very welcome) to see something just a bit different than the average home. I really enjoy spaces that have a funky personality and unique pieces that wow guests when they walk in the door. In my opinion, the awesome retro armchairs with fluffy navy pattered pillows are the statement piece in this room. Then the other organic room decor ideas like the woven seagrass rug, really cool round wood grain coffee table, and eclectic artwork offset the furniture so well.
I have been searching around and brainstorming room ideas that would make our home cozy enough to appeal to my tastes while masculine enough that my new husband feels welcome as well. I think that the living room ideas in this mountain home are the perfect mixture of both of our styles because they are soft and cozy enough for me, but with some edgier contemporary touches that will grab him. I always love an all grey color palette because the monochromatic look provides an excellent base to pretty much any design you can think of as it is so easier to pair accent colors alongside these shades. The stacked stone fireplace is the perfect centerpiece to the design and really makes the room in my opinion. Replicating this fireplace is a definite "must" in our home, and I have already been researching contractors to help us install it.
In case you couldn't figure out from these photos, we are in dire need of some room ideas for our main living space of the new home. We bought this place knowing that it would need some updating and a lot of love when it came to bringing in new house decorating ideas. Overall, the look is just very 1980s and quite outdated from what is popular nowadays. However, there are a lot of great architectural features that attracted us to this home despite the downfalls. I love the natural stone fireplace in the grey room as well as the large open floor plan of the entire downstairs, not to mention the gorgeous views out of the windows. If we switch out the living room decor with some more modern colors like blues and grey and maybe paint the wood trim, I think it would look like a brand new home!
