When it comes to small kitchen layouts, I always opt for a simple white design in order to keep things as fresh and open as possible. The cute farmhouse in these kitchen pictures is actually one of my favorite remodels in awhile because I think that we were able to really maximize the space as far as functionality and efficiency, while also bringing in stunning decor. The classic white cabinets, marble countertops, and polished nickel fixtures perfectly embody that warm farmhouse style. We stuck with your average small kitchen ideas like all white cabinetry, light floors, and lofted ceilings to make the space seem as open and airy as possible. Big fan of this traditional kitchen design and feel it is the most popular in 2019.
Even though most of my jobs include small kitchen layouts, I always like to look to luxury designs for my inspiration because I think you can learn a lot about current trends, unique style and color pairings, as well as all of the unique gadgets that high end clients are wanting in their homes. Just because you are doing a small kitchen remodel, does not mean that you cannot add all of the great features and decor themes that larger designs incorporate. My partner and I specialize in achieving just this and, I think, do a dang good job at it. This was one of our latest renovations that, despite the relatively limited footprint, we were able to fit in a ton of the trending kitchen ideas 2019 alongside an awesome contemporary motif.
It has been such a treat for my wife and I to go from the small kitchen layouts that we are used to, to this large and luxurious space to work with. It is going to be interesting to try to shift our mindset from small kitchen design ideas, to bigger and bolder styles that will suit are much more spacious new home. As you can see, our current style is quite outdated and in dire need of some renovations to make it look more current. I think that the space has some great bones though, between the awesome beams on the ceiling, solid wood cabinetry, and a generally open and efficient layout. We are so excited to get started with this kitchen remodel and share with everybody what plans we come up with and how it turns out.
As far as small kitchen layouts go, a corner design with a lot of windows is always one of my favorites to work with because it brings in so much light and usable wall space. The best kitchen layouts allow enough space to install adequate cabinetry without making the room feel crowded (or empty). If you are working with limited square footage, I also prefer there to be some sort of large window feature (or even a door way) because it brings a lot of light to the space. This allows you to decorate with darker furnishings like we did here as opposed to the all-white designs that are usually popular for small kitchen ideas 2019. In addition, the custom cut granite countertops blend perfectly with the shape of the kitchen and bring it all together.
Even though pretty much every home that we have owned has had small kitchen layouts, I am just dying to recreate this gorgeous all white kitchen in our house. It will take some work tearing a wall down, but I'm sold it's so worth it. As you can see from the kitchen remodel pictures that I have saved, I think because the design is very open and bright with a fairly monochromatic color scheme, it would actually work very well in a smaller layout. If we stick with classically paneled cabinetry, brushed nickel knobs and fixtures, marble style countertops and mosaic backsplash as well as light grey paint, we could achieve a very similar look no matter the size of our footprint.
When it comes to small kitchen layouts, I actually love looking at IKEA and their catalogues for ideas because tons of their kitchen products are designed with a smaller scale in mind. I found these pictures of small kitchens in one of their catalogues that I got in the mail, and I really love how the modern grey cabinets look in the space. Usually I would steer away from such dark finishes in a small kitchen but, due to all of the natural light from the windows, I think that it actually works really well. This goes to show you that you should always think outside of the box when it coms to kitchen cabinet ideas for small kitchens -- never box yourself in to those all white designs that everybody preaches about.
