People seem to think that home decor trends year by year, but I am seeing the same grey and white shades in popular kitchen paint colors 2022 as I saw for the past few years. From my perspective home decor "seasons" do not move at the speed of fashion where there are new trends every couple of months (every year at the absolute least). What is good to use for kitchen color ideas remains pretty standard no matter what year it is, if anything I see more movement my 5 or 10 year increments than anything else. With that being said, don't stress about changing up your style year by year. There are so many fantastic Sherwin williams paint colors (like this one called Swiss coffee) that will keep your home looking current for years to come.
I am so please with how our home makeover turned out considering all we really did was bring in some of the more popular kitchen paint colors 2022. Before our little home design project, all of our cabinets were the same color as that center island. I have been eyeing gray kitchen cabinets for quite some time now, but never knew how to incorporate it in our home considering the warmth of our floors and the wood beams that traverse the kitchen and living area ceilings. It dawned on me that, if we kept the island, the wood colors would actually work really well alongside the grey color. I am so pleased with how it turned out because I really feel like we have one of those high end designer homes simply by upgrading to the trendier kitchen cabinet colors 2022.
I am glad to see that trending kitchen paint colors 2020 are moving away from all of those greys that we have been seeing for the past couple of years and heading more in the simple white direction. Don't get me wrong, I never thought that grey kitchen colors looked bad, I just felt that it was getting a little too overdone if you know what I mean. This is our new kitchen after undergoing a renovation this past winter. I know that it is quite basic compared to a lot of homes on here, but I am really in love with the simplicity of it. At first we were going to do grey walls, but then I saw a catalog of sherwin williams paint colors 2024 and found this awesome white called Swiss Coffee and fell in love at once.

A lot of my friends have been asking me what I anticipate to be trending in kitchen paint colors 2022, and I would say that the biggest thing is definitely the use of contrast. What I mean by that is two starkly different colors working in harmony to create a bold yet still very soothing design. For example, for this kitchen we used super dark charcoal kitchen cabinet colors for all of the base units, but then used a creamy white shade for the uppers that blends into the walls. This would be an absolutely fantastic choice whether you have a large or small home, because these kitchen color schemes would emphasize space and height no matter the layout or size. Definitely consider this look if you are stumped with where to go on a remodel.
I let my husband take the reigns on sorting through all of the popular kitchen paint colors 2022 to find a new shade for our home. I must say that I am so impressed with how well he did because, in my opinion, he picked the absolute best kitchen paint colors for our space. The white and soft warm grey shades that he choose are certainly not bold and "in your face," but rather create such a subtle and chic backdrop to the rest of the elements in this room. We already have a lot going on visually between the glass door cabinets, contrasting island, and multiple countertop types. By painting kitchen cabinets white and using a really soft grey shade on the walls, we were able to reduce some of that visual "noise" and create a much more serene yet still very chic space.
