This staircase is a beautiful example of how to match neutral tones. The even detailing across the marble on the ground floor harmonizes with the chocolate wood. The wrought iron stair railing is fashioned in an elegant design, complementing the wood without overpowering it. While a gold chandelier may seem out of place in theory, the size, color, and positioning accentuates the off-white flooring and staircase. A spiral staircase exudes elegance, creating the illusion of a spacious foyer and adding a touch of old-world elegance. Accent furniture provides a modern and warm touch. The gray sofa and throw pillows tie in with the railing, as the chest ties in with the chocolate steps. While the internet has an abundance of staircase ideas available, its important to know what looks right in your home. Ultimately, contacting an interior decorator will help you find the best fit for your home.
If you are looking for staircase ideas for your home, look no further than this gorgous design! I saw this at an open house we went to and was blown away by how simple yet artistic it is. In general, I have always been attracted to more modern designs, especially when it comes to things like architecture. Staircase design is one of those things that you rarely notice unless it is a statement piece like in this home. I love how the edgy metal spindles perfectly accent the ashy natural wood stair handrail and treads. You would think that the combination would look stark and cold, but it actually has a rather homey vibe. This fantastic pairing is carried up to the balcony and even used as accents throughout the rest of the home and in the neighboring kitchen. The designer used the same metal color in window frames and fireplace surround. Then used a coordinating tone of wood for the kitchen cabinetry. The entire look is seamless and I wish I could add something like this to our home.
Unique stair railing ideas are hard to come by. Most are your traditional wood designs with little creativity or architectural detailing. I suppose that most people dont pay much attention to staircase design ideas, but I really wanted mine to be a focal point in our home. I have been searching high and low for some inspiration on how I can incorporate a fun design into our front entryway. Unfortunately, I have had trouble finding designs that absolutely wow me. This site was a great resource for photos of homes with staircase ideas that do not look like all of the rest I have seen online and in magazines. I actually love the look of this circular staircase with metal details. The funky spiral design is such a great architectural detail that adds an artistic and sculptural feel. Even better, the ornate detailing on the metal handrail elevates the decorative look of the entire piece. My search for staircase design ideas is officially over. I am excited to begin recreating the look of these fabulous stairs and entryway in our new home.
Check out this awesome modern staircase we just built for a very creative client. They wanted something unlike anything they had seen in a home before. A staircase that both fit with the architectural style of the home, but that also provided an artistic focal point in the space. This floating wood, glass, and metal design fit those goals exactly. Our clients had an existing staircase tucked away in a corner of the entry. The design was rather boring so we wanted to take advantage of the floor to ceiling windows and utilize contemporary staircase ideas to create some sort of decorative feature in that space. We brought in our most forward-thinking architect to come up with a plan to make our visions a reality. He decided to mimic the large glass windows and doors by adding a glass wall to enclose the stairs. This was the perfect choice because it allows you to see the fantastic wood and metal floating staircase travel all the way up the stairs. The entire design is accented by the chrome border along the railing and maritime-style spindles.
In any home we build, we like to incorporate a few unique elements that will make it stand out from all the rest. This particular client wanted to make a statement in their foyer with a very grand design complete with intricate indoor stair railings. The rest of their home was designed in an upscale rustic style, so we felt that using organic materials like natural stone, bronze, and exposed wood would be a nice way to tie in the rest of the design while still being visually interesting. We did not want the somewhat harsh and contemporary look of a completely metal staircase, so our in house architect created this design that incorporates bronze elements on the stair posts and supports, that is accented by beautiful stained wood spindles and treads. The whole unit is flanked by beautiful limestone columns that coordinate with the focal wall behind it leading into the kitchen and main living areas. Even if your entryway is not as large as this one, you can certainly utilizes these staircase ideas to bring a similar look to any space.
Until I started building our new house, I didnt think that staircase ideas were something I would be searching all over the internet for. But here we are. The entryway to your home is the first place that guests see, so I really want to make a decor statement with the stairs. I love period homes, especially from the 19th century, that have these gorgous circular staircases with a polished wooden handrail. This entry is a great example of what I am hoping to build in my house. It is such a classic design and reminds me of my favorite old movies like Gone With the Wind. I can imagine the looks on friends and familys faces when they walk in the front door and see this grand staircase alongside the rich panelling and plank flooring that we have already picked out. The only thing I would change is to make the stair spindles the same stained wood as the banister (rather than painted white like in this photo). I think this would create a bit more of a cohesive look. Plus, I much prefer the look of stained rather than painted wood in general.
