I have long awaited the day when I could contribute some of my own kitchen design images to the galleries on here. I can't tell you how many photos that I have scrolled through over the past 6 months trying to figure out kitchen remodel ideas 2022 for our latest project. We wanted to turn an outdated home with espresso cabinetry into a more trendy white kitchen without spending an arm and a leg. I had read so much about painting cabinetry, that it seemed like the natural choice for us since our units were still in pretty good shape. My favorite part about the kitchen is the new countertops and backsplash because I think it has a really fun and trendy touch. That is why I decided to post these in the galleries of other kitchen backsplash pictures because I think it could be inspiring to folks like myself.
Out of all of the kitchen design images that I looked at on here, this home definitely inspired me the most overall. I have been tirelessly looking through kitchen designs photo gallery after gallery trying to find homes that both inspire me and that have layouts or major style patterns that somewhat mimic what we have at our house. It isn't easy to fine photos that feature black cabinetry, but this house actually used it and did it in such a unique way. We actually have very similar traditional style black units and I have been trying to figure out how to update the kitchen without ripping them out. I love how they did light distressing on these to give it a bolder look and then paired it with a funky almost retro style backsplash for a unique flare. Most pictures of painted kitchen cabinets feature super traditional rooms, so this was a really nice change of pace.
It is kitchen design images like these that get me really excited to start on our home renovation project. I really want to make all of our living areas very unique looking, and not something that you would see in your average house. This goes for everything from the kitchen design ideas to the living room, dining room, and even the bathrooms. I have never been one to follow trends necessarily, I really just add what I like and hope that everything turns out in the end. With that being said though, I think that the overall vibe that I am trying to achieve is very on trend with what seems to be popular this year. These kitchen pictures capture what I am hoping to achieve in our house, with the rustic natural woods, large island, and even the warmer color palette.
Very few of the kitchen design images that I see on here feature this honey color wood cabinets, which is pretty disappointing because it is by far my favorite finish. We are trying to update our kitchen design without getting rid of our current cabinetry, both to save cost and because I basically like how they look. With updates to the paint color, countertops and backsplash, I think that we could definitely transform the place and not have to spend tens of thousands of dollars on brand new cabinets. Why bother you know? I was pleased to find these kitchen cabinet ideas on here because it gave me the great idea to buy knobs like they used here to swap out all of our old brass ones. That alone will make a huge difference to how the space looks, not to mention maybe similar granite countertops to this.
Kitchen design images like these truly inspire me to either build a new home or gut our current one haha. I have been diligently researching kitchen ideas for the longest time trying to narrow down exactly what I want to do in our house. We have relatively limited space, so I cannot do everything that I want to do (hence me considering building). If I could have anything and everything that I wanted in a kitchen, it would be the home in these photos. I love everything about the design from the traditional style to the more rustic accents, the light fixtures and even the island stools. It would be hard to replicate this in our small kitchen design, but I do think that we could capture the overall spirit by making a few changes. We'll see what I end up doing...
These are certainly not the most exciting kitchen design images that you are going to see on here, and that is for good reason. These are my "before" photos and I plan on uploading progress pics and then the final look so that homeowners like me can watch the progression of how we plan and install various small kitchen ideas in here. Seeing the finished product is certainly helpful, but sometimes it can also be super intimidating to figure out how exactly to achieve that look, especially within the context of whatever you have going on already at your house. Each home is different so you are never going to really be able to compare apples to apples. If you don't have interior decorating experience, it can be really hard to figure out how to recreate all of these kitchen design pictures that you see on here at your house.
