Is there a consensus on here on what the best paint color for small bathroom designs is if you are trying to stick with neutrals? I have read a lot of about cooler shades being super popular right now, but we have so much warm-toned tile and granite countertops in here that I am not sure if it would clash badly. I don't really like the bathroom paint colors that we have now though, and they are definitely in the neutral family. Can any paint experts or designers on here weigh in and tell me what you think? Do I go out on a limb and try one of the trendy cool-toned colors that sherwin Williams has out now, or should I stick with what we have? I am trying to follow the small bathroom ideas and tips that I have read on here, but I don't really know how to begin.
In case you could not tell from this photo, we are in dire need of a bathroom makeover haha. I am looking for recommendations on the best paint color for small bathroom layouts like this with travertine tile and dark wood vanity. This salmon shade has to go, but I don't know if another neutral color would be too boring against the tile. Most of the small bathroom makeovers that I have seen on here are done in very grey and white color palettes. They look great and all, but that theme would definitely not go with what we currently have in the bathroom. Experimenting with bathroom paint ideas will be expensive enough, without ripping out tile and the vanity. So I need something that will still look very on trend, but that will blend well with most of the existing materials in here.
I have heard so many people say that the best paint color for small bathroom floor plans like this is something very light so that it feels clean and open. I am certainly not opposed to those bathroom colors, but I feel like we need more in here. I was actually really tempted to paint the bathroom vanity, but then I realized that if we painted it white it would clash with our wood doors and trim. If we did white (or very close to it) walls instead of this beige, do you think that I could paint the vanity a muted teal shade or do you think it would make the room feel too crowded. I don't think that I have seen any colored vanities in the galleries of small bathroom designs 2020 on here, so I am not sure if it would be a mistake.
If I had to choose the very best paint color for small bathroom designs, I would definitely say a warm beige like this. I think that it is a classic color that will never go out of style and it goes with so many cabinet finishes, tile patterns, and overall decor themes that you really cannot go wrong. I know that cooler shades are definitely trending more in bathroom color ideas 2020, but I think that those will be a brief thing and I don't think that they are as versatile. If you do grey walls, you are definitely committing to a particular theme and you will need to carry it throughout the tile and more. I feel like beige is a little bit more forgiving, especially if you are doing a small bathroom remodel, because it tends to fade into the background a bit more.
When it comes to choosing the best paint color for small bathroom, one must consider the style, the fixtures, and the overall ambiance desired for the space. For this modern bathroom makeover, I opted for Sherwin Williams' "Agreeable Gray" (SW 7029). A pale gray, this color beautifully compliments the stark white subway tile shower and tan cabinets. The gentle gray hue contributes to visually expanding the space while providing a sophisticated, clean backdrop.
Subway tile showers are a popular choice due to their classic yet versatile appeal. The white subway tiles in this bathroom shower not only brighten the space but also create an eye-catching contrast with the Agreeable Gray walls. This combination gives the bathroom a modern, chic feel while ensuring it doesn't feel confined.
While finding the best colors for small bathrooms might seem challenging, it is important to remember that the right color can dramatically transform a compact bathroom into a serene retreat. The pale gray of Agreeable Gray paint, combined with the crisp white of the subway tiles and the warm tan cabinets, creates a balanced, inviting, and airy environment for this small bathroom.
One of the best paint color for small bathroom, especially for modern designs, is Sherwin Williams Repose Gray (SW 7015). This light gray color, similar to the hue of the walls in our renovated master bathroom, exudes a sense of tranquility and elegance. The muted tone harmonizes perfectly with the dark gray tiles of our bathtub shower combo, which has no walls or curtains, enhancing the modern aesthetic. Also, Repose Gray reflects ample light, an essential aspect for small bathrooms, making the space feel larger and more open.
When selecting bathroom wall colors, consider the overall design and the other elements in the room. For our master bathroom, the Repose Gray walls form a stark contrast with the dark gray tiled shower, drawing the eye and creating a dynamic visual appeal. This pairing is a testament to the versatility and universal appeal of the best gray paint colors sherwin williams offers. Their wide range of grays can complement various styles and preferences, from contemporary to classic designs.
The centerpiece of our bathroom is a modern, long double sink vanity featuring three rows of cabinets colored gray. The white marble top, speckled with hints of gray, further complements the Repose Gray walls, creating a cohesive, chic, and sophisticated look. Paired with double mirrors, the setup adds depth and intrigue, further amplifying the room's modern aesthetics. So, when planning a bathroom makeover, remember that the best paint color for a small bathroom is one that enhances the other elements, creating a harmonious, welcoming space. In our case, Sherwin Williams' Repose Gray perfectly achieved this vision.
