We are in dire need of some updated small bathroom ideas 2020 for this powder room pictured here. I mean the space doesn't necessarily look bad, but I think that the current powder room ideas are very dated (like circa early 2000s when travertine was THE thing to put in your home). I am envisioning a really pretty marble mosaic tile in the shower, a white vanity with simple quartz countertop, and maybe a soft gray tone on the walls. We don't want to spend a ton on the small bathroom remodel (like under $3000 preferably), so I am definitely going to need to start bargain hunting soon. We would be super grateful if anybody on here has recommendations of good stores to start with, or even what materials we should focus our budget on more than others.
I am seeing a lot of mixed materials in trending small bathroom ideas 2020, which I feel is a delightful change from all of the monochromatic designs of past seasons. We recently updated this small bathroom layout to be more stylish as well as more functional by adding in additional storage via new vanities and matching cabinetry as well as completely changing around the color palette. I know that a lot of people say that you should keep small bathroom remodel ideas very sleek and simplistic with light neutral colors. This is all very well and good but, quite frankly, I think that it can make for some very boring designs.
I am so pleased with the small bathroom ideas 2020 that my daughter helped me put together for our guest bath (that she uses haha). As you can see, we went with a very simple and neutral design that could easily be transitioned over the years into just about any color palette we may want to combine with it. She told me that grey and white spaces like this are very "in" for small bathroom designs 2020, so my home would definitely look trendy and updated. I think that my favorite part of the whole thing is this (faux) marble topped vanity that we found at a huge discount at Lowe's. In my opinion it is the single piece that brings together all of the tiny bathroom ideas that we chose, and really completes the design.
I actually found the inspiration for our new master suite design (pictured here) in a gallery of popular small bathroom ideas 2020. As you can see, our master is fairly spacious but it does have a little bit of a challenging layout. The floor plan is long and narrow which still gives me a good amount of square footage but it makes it challenging to add much decor because I don't want to overwhelming the narrow space. That is why I started looking at small master bathroom ideas in hopes that I would discover a few techniques to maximize the current layout. Those galleries were a gold mine of suggestions about color palettes to choose and materials to use throughout. I mimicked a small modern bathroom that used a floating vanity with vessel sink to maximize floor space.
This room is a perfect example of the best small bathroom ideas 2020 all in one space. First of all, traditional tub/shower combos have certainly gone by the wayside as far as things that potential buyers are looking for in a home. Ripping out the tub and installing small bathroom designs with shower stalls that are large and translucent have definitely become the preferred option. You can keep the original footprint so that you don't have to spend the money or time on moving plumbing, and then just tile up the sides and floor and install frameless shower doors. This makes even the smallest spaces feel much larger, and can add a great touch of style depending on the tile you choose as well.
Even though we did not necessarily use the trendiest small bathroom ideas 2020 in our powder room remodel, I still love how it turned out and I think that a lot of other people will enjoy it as well. I have always been more partial to traditional decor, whether it be in a bedroom kitchen, or bath. I knew that I wanted to incorporate some classic vintage touches in our new half bath ideas, including a pedestal sink and some sort of antique piece under the window. My vision certainly came true in here, and I was able to incorporate just about everything that I had planned on including this gorgeous antique hutch that we placed under the window. I feel like a lot of people feel boxed in by small bathroom decor ideas, but I encourage you not to let the size of your space determine the path of your remodel.
